The seat on the RC is a deal buster. I can live with the rest of it, but man the seat sucks. Been looking for a used Corbin or Sargent but haven't come up with anything lately. Anyone somewhat local that can work some magic on a stocker for a reasonable price?
Thanks

I had them re-do my SV seat for comfort. They did a great job and it was WAY cheaper than buying aftermarket.
AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA, I knew this would be an RC thread before I clicked it.
I went from the stocket to a corbin I think, I got it from here.
I didnt really like it. It wasn't really any softer, it was just a different shape. It was more tractor seat shaped, and you sat on your butt cheeks rather than your taint. Mildly more comfortable, but i hated how much harder it was to get off the side of the seat. The trapezoid shape of the stocker lets you easily slide left and right. The bucket shape of the aftermarket really was only good for sitting in the middle. I had it a year and sold it.
RC's are just slow, heavy, and uncomfortable
but we love them.
The guy selling the Superhawk that I stuck on here does some custom seats. If you want to re-use your existing cover and just have the cushion done or a gel added, it shouldn't be too much. He'll custom cut it to you and do what you want.
Razee's sent me to a custom seat guy over behind the turf fields in slocum. He cut my stock seat down for me but also will do custom and was reasonable. Forgot the name call service and they can give you his number.

Someone on here was selling a modded stocker...

I shaved my RC seat (took off some foam), then I took a piece off of a memory foam pillow and duct taped it on to the OEM foam (yes duct tape) just along the edges. Then I re covered it. Cost me very little - added much comfort.
I just bought an Airhawk. Love my V-Strom, but despise the seat. It's the main reason I stopped riding it for a while.
Looks great, feels great, so we'll see what happens.

Eat your collard greens and fried chicken...That way your ass will get fat and you'll have more natural cushion![]()
The SV1k guys on SVrider forum seem to have a good opinion of this guy: http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php
I guess you can talk to him about your problem spots and he's pretty good about helping.
Get bike padded shorts. It's a lot cheaper
+3 on the same guy- he did two seats of mine and they turned out good. In fact, my blue ZX6R is on his friends page, half way down, my first name is Michael.

Interested in feedback. I just got a bike and it came with a new (unused) OEM Suzuki Gel seat. Last night I happened upon a used Corbin for a decent price on the SVrider forums so I snapped it up ('cause I can resell for the same price, easy, if it doesnt work out.)
If I can't get comfortable on these, I'd be happy to hear another first hand opinion on the greatdaytoride guy!
I sent my Daytona seat to him also. He's a great guy to deal with. Give him ALL the info you can about the troubles you're having. My seat came out great and you'd never even know he touched the seat by looking at it. I've done a little riding with it so far this year and its been great. And you can't beat the price compared to an aftermarket seat.

Yeah I'm excited to try it out, when it comes back. Of course it is snowing here right now![]()
