I DO mean the B-12. I think that after aSV, TL and 750 GSXR I'd just assume walk as rice a 600cc bandit. I KNOW that I could have a TON of fun on an SV650, i used to have one, and was thinking about getting another one, right up untill this morning. I think that the KLX will fill that fun, tourquy, hooligan nitch rather well though, and if I get a second bike, it would have to fill in the voids that the KLX, or even SV would have left like long distance/highway capabillity and comfort for 2up.
As far as the surgery thing, she'll be out of work for up to 6 months. She wants to sell the condo (to me) and get an appartment that has no steps (knee surgury) and have enough $$$ in the bank to pay all her expences untill (I can't believe I'm typing this she gets back on her feet again.

Get a naked b-12 some clip ons, GSXR cams a full yoshi system and some pods....No wait, I ment an "s" model with a taller screen and hard bags and a corbin seat. Yea......nooooo. Perhaps I'll just sit in my new condo and type messages on the internet, nah, that would be lame

Yeh that does suck, i have had 3 trucks broken into and thousands of $$$$ in stereo stuff stolen. You just feel violated.

Look into the sprint RS. They have awesome deals on 2002 left overs, and its a nice bike to boot.

Yeah, I saw some good deals on those, too. Definitely well below $8k brand new now (for leftover '02). For $7799 I thought my SuperHawk was the better buy. I just couldn't get by the looks of the RS; but as they say 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.

back in 2000 I had the choice of a TLS, a Superhawk 996 , or Ninja 750R all for the same price, I chose the ninja,
This time around I went for a bit more comfort and a bit more naked of a bike, although with the aftermarket tire hugger ,and lowercowel (belly pan) it does look pretty sharp especially in black. Definately not the "short bus yellow".

But to each his own.

Black is nice. That was my last bike's color...though dirt shows up pretty easily. That huge 'RS' needs to go, too. I'm sure it's lots of fun, and triples sound real nice.

Thanks for tall the suport and tips. I have been scouring the net and the Want-ads for bits and or pieces of this thing, but the sad fact is: it's gone. I hope that the kid that they thought stole it did, and they catch him and he trips down the stairs in the jail. Repeatedly. I'm gonna swing down to Lowell on the Enduro in abit, just to have a look-see. I really like the sprint, but it'ss probably be out of the question concidering the whole homeless thing and all. I'll probably wind up with a used SV650, or old VFR750, may be an 80's vintage Nighthawk "s". They are kinda cool. The outside bike is the B-12, but the pre-'01s are ugly, and the '01s burn oil, so I'd need to get an '02, and for the kind of money that I'll have left over, I doubt that I can. Supermoto it is!

Yep, sure is. It has a set of Heli bars and balck OEM frame sliders. The cut-out on the left fairing is incomplete, so that he plastic was actually pushed in slightly durring the instalation. The grips are red and black dirt bike grips. The left one is intact, the right one has the end cut out. The other, intact grip is under the seat along aith a stubby philip's head screwdriver and a tube of grip-glue. There are no bar ends. There are a set of CF Lockheart Phillip flush mounts on the front aligned with the line of the paint so that they actually point slightly downward. The clock is aparently unsettable, and will read the wrong time. The right hand chrome "suzuki" sticker is slightly scraped up, and the left engine case that sticks out of the fairing is scarred wiht the silver showing through the paint on the bottom edge. Thankfully, I have the replacement part on the way from an e-bay auction that I won. WooHoo!

RECOVERED!!

After a little more than aweek gone, the bike was recovered! It was in a smash up in NH, and the plod got it back. (Oh how I wish the kid had just gotten pulled over instead). The cheaky bastard was riding around with MY PLATE still. It looks like he took reasonable care of it, besides the smash that is. He even did a rear fenderectomy on it! Little fucker might loose his leg. Good. pics of the bike are here .

From what I could gather by talking to the Investigator, they will pay to have it repaired, same as if I had smashed it up. I'll still be out the deductable. When I first talked to her, she kinda sounded like I was suspect in the whole afair. Understandable I guess, except that I owed no money on it and had no reason for it to disapear. Today though, she was very sympathetic to every thing. From her tone it sounds like they are keen to just total it out. I suppose that's OK too, since I can't even imagin what other things might be wrong with it, even though it doesn't look that bad to me.

He will probably say you didn't have it locked up in a vault so he thought that it was his or something stupid. Your insurance will probably just settle with him and charge you insane rates for the rest of your life.

Hey, if insurace totals the bike, don't just accept their first offer. Tell them you will think about it and try and sell it on here first.. you may get more money than insurance is willing to give you.

I'm amazed that it was still in one piece! Dude was riding around on it WITH MY PLATE! Like I loaned it to him or something.... What did he think would happen if he got pulled over? What if one of the local cops was a biker too and saw the bike listed on a LEAPS bulliten and was looking out for it? What if some chick pulled out in front of him and he got in a wreck...oh wait, I guess that already happened . Two things that happen to kids on sportbikes, they get pulled over and get into accidents. It was BOUND to happen. It sure does make the cop's job easier when the bad guys are all so stupid!

BTW, if your interested a friend of mine is in the business of buying & selling wrecked bikes. He will give you $500 more than what you can buy it back for from the Ins co. So you can get a little bit more for it for nothing... He also has a few bikes he is repairing and has good bikes for short $$ that were once totaled. He can go over with you what to do and say with the Ins co with all the settlements to be sure you do not get screwed.
