    Re: Stompgrip

If you enjoy doing wheelies, this is a must have. Your legs stick very nicely to the tank avoiding them to slip back which can make your throttle hand pull back way too much on the gas.

i agree on the preventing nuts from being smothered and helping your body stay still during hard acceleration/wheelies, not to mention grip during cornering. Stompgrip doesn't bother me with jeans on, but it grips better with leathers.

How can you even say they suck? You like your knees sliding all over the place? Especially if you dont wear leather pants.

Anyone ever reposition their Stomp Grip? The one on the left side of my tank has moved down a little and I want to bring it back to where it originally was.

    Re: Stompgrip

I would try to carefully use a heat gun to warm the glue and slid it back into place. Or even remove the pad with the heat gun and then reposition.

heat gun on a gas tank?

Well, I was actually able to peel it off right after a ride, since it was warm and repositioned it.

    Re: Stompgrip

I have StompGrips on my SV650S and they do help me. Then again I wash my bike and wax and other things many folks don't bother with so my tank was damn slippery before these pads. I never ride without a full suit (Aerostich, RevIt, or Vanson) so i don't know what they would be like with jeans on but they might get annoying. I like the increased grip when pulling the bike down into a corner with my knee and then hanging on until the apex, increases feel and confidence which certainly helps me ride more quickly and smoothly.

I have a set of squishy black pads on my R1200RT that work better in my textile suits but are not as grippy with leather. YMMV...

Big personal preference thing, but they are relatively cheap thing to try. If you don't like it just move on, Or be like me and say "one of the better, cheaper mods" I have done to the bike

Sure. Why not? You need alot of heat to ignite a tank from the outside. Besides, I empty my gas tank after every race. I could weld my tanks within 24 hours with no problem.

That's how I put on my stompgrips, my tank pad, and my tank sliders, decals on the race plastics, etc... Probably why my stuff is all still on there and yours isn't

    Re: Stompgrip

I decided to go for the tech specs on my 675 instead of the stompgrips. I prefer them for when I'm just wearing riding jeans. They provide good grip, but don't irritate me when I'm not in full leathers.
