Very strange...

got a call yesterday from the Lincoln, MA police department... (you know, the town where i wrecked a year and a half ago)

turns out my helmet's been sitting in their property room this whole time, and no one bothered to tell me. we had figured someone at the hospital swiped it.
so we go down to pick it up, and the cop shows me that soemone had taped a sheet of paper to it that said "returned to owner."

then he asks me if i'm riding again... i say not yet, and he says "yeah, i heard it was a really bad one."
jayzus, even cops who didn't respond know about *my* accident? weird.

oh, yeah, and my gloves were stuffed in the helmet, too. all of it in pretty good condition.

I go through that intersection all the time... I always pay a little extra attention.

geez, i guess we've gotten a lot of members in a year and a half.

short story: i was in a bad accident in 11/02. search the archives if you wanna see the blow-by-blows.

as to condition, yeah... the gloves & helmet look great. i can't tell which scratches on the helmet were from the accident and which were old ones from sitting on asphalt.
couldn't find new scuffs on my gloves, either...
this really wasn't a "sliding" type incident. my poor leg & wrist took all the impact.

those gloves are probably the best 60 bucks i ever spent.
