Anyone got any tips on how to get chain lube off your tires? I got some chain lube on my rear tire when lubing up the chain. I tried scrubbing it off with some dish soap and it's still waxy and slick on the outside edge of my tire. I feel this is a safety concern as if I get deep into a corner where the lube is I might have less traction especially in the rain. Any help is greatly appreciated.
small dap of brake cleaner in a rag has worked for me in the past.
Not sure if it's safe for your tire but I have had no issues the couple times I have done this.
when it's happened to me in the past, i've largely ignored it or just take it easy for a little bit and gradually work up the lean angle. i've never had big areas of lube on the tire before, though. are we talking a few spots or did you soak it?
no idea if it's safe for tires, either, but if you go this route, be very careful to keep it off the paint.
Simple green.
if anyone can suggest something to clean my rims of chain lube id appreciate it
thank you.. is simple green and purple the same thing?
Kerosene
Then use dish soap to get the rest of Kero residual
Kero also the preferred method of chain cleaning and other greasy goo
Chain saw.
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
McGuires sells a paint cleaner/wax (designed to be the first part of a three stage wax) that works really well. I use it to get off bugs, tar, gum, pretty much everything on my bike. You just apply it like you would wax and it cleans wheels exceptionally.
ride it and worry about it being dirty some other time. repeat.

Chainlube is a little more serios than you think.
When makeing that left turn with lube on your tire, will make it act like ice , no traction.
Purple stuff and simplegreen are NOT the same. Both are degreesers, simple green is a little easier on skin and sensitve areas, like eyes.
Wipe as much as you can with rag/paper towls, I had good luck with oil dry or cat litter, both are basically clay, grind it in, break it up, let it absorb the oil.
Kerosene or penatrating oil work great on a rag to clean dirty metal parts, then follow up with lite detergent or soap. Keep in mind that petro products atract dirt.
Just don't take it lightly, I had chain lube drip on my tire , first left turn I went down. Doesn't take much , its made to be slippery.
Beat It Like A Rented Mule !!
Legend in my own mind
Get off the bike more and you won't need that much tire and it won't be an issue.
No, one is green and one is purple!
Not even close! While they are similar in what they do, the purple (renamed castrol super clean) is MUCH more corrosive to metals, will damage paint, burns your skin, and it's toxic.
Simple green is non toxic and much less corrosive to metals, and won't harm your paint

stretch the swing arm and drift it...the sliding smoke show will get rid of the lube much quicker
