I have been using Maxima chain wax and cable lube for years. I recently ran out of lube and thought I'd try another brand so I bought a can of PJ1 blue label chain lube. This PJ1 stuff is vastly superior to the Maxima and I'll be using it instead from now on. Wish I'd known 7 years ago...
Good to know...
And what is it that makes it "vastly superior"?

So after a mile of riding you've deemed the PJ1 better than the Maxima?
Tell me when you acheive 35,000+ miles out of a chain and I'll believe you.
Otherwise it's Maxima, FTW.
I use DuPont's multipurpose teflon lubricant... it's an excellent chain lube, doesn't fling or collect crud, anything.
I bought a whole case of it.
Here is an unnecessarily large image of it:

Steve I think I got the case here when I was ordering some other supplies:
DuPont Teflon Lubricant
This stuff is mint... most of the bike-specific stuff I've seen/tried I was not at all impressed by.

Its all about heating the chain up good and cleaning it, then Lube and allow to cool..I have found the Chain Wax thats Yellowish is best doesn't fling off. I think its Bellray.

No, I went almost 2 miles, then I pulled over to type the good news to the world via NESR.
I have never been able to coax more than 25,000-30,000 miles out of a chain using Maxima. I am not convinced any of these lubes extend the life of a chain though, it's not like they penetrate beyond the O rings where the real wear takes place. I do notice a major increase in vibration on a dry chain.

I've been using Sprectro MX chain wax and it works great. My only issue is that I'm lazy and go the WD-40 route for cleaning, so it doesn't dry, leading to a little fling.
Anyone have anything they use for cleaning (besides kerosene) that dries? Jim, what was that stuff you used on Annalisa's chain?
I use the Motul chain cleaner...spray it on a rag and run the chain thru it....works Pissssssa
and it smells Fresh and clean not like Break Cleaner..

I prefer the Honda RED can chain lube. It's ooooeeey goooeeeey. I have been know to use some 90w gear oil on the dirt bike chain.
