Don't forget that the longer the swing arm the easier it is to spin the tire. That's why you never see drag racers with those gawdy 24" extended arms. They have a happy median between traction and keeping wheelies in check.

it also makes it more stable in a slide.

Nick said they learned a lot with the ZX and that it was a little too long. He wasn't able to swing it out as far as he wanted. His new Speed Triple isn't stretched quite as much.
