Actually a great article! And since YOU posted AND attacked men at the same time, a lot of MEN will probably read it...
If DOC or I posted all we'd get is a ration of shit from the mind your own business and let people ride how the want to ride crew...
(technically however, I think women do far more sucking...at least that's what men want to believe)
"A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”
Muhammad Ali.
Wow, this article points out the obvious. It's all common sense why the fatalities happen more often at certain times.
5. Men suck. 91% of dead riders were male.
What's the % ratio of male riders to female?
6. If you're a woman you're better off riding alone than riding bitch. 64% of women who were killed were riding on the back. And mostly women ride on the back. 89% of passengers killed were women.
Makes sense. Most of the women who ride on motorcycles are passengers.
89% of the passenger's killed were women......I'm really surprised that 11% of the passengers were men.
7. Buying a bigger bike doesn't mean you can handle it. The number of people dying on bikes with engines larger than 1000cc's is going up. Fast. This is in contrast to people with smaller engines which are declining in fatalities.
On the average, less people are buying smaller bikes. The biggest trend for larger engines is with cruisers. When I bought mine, 1100cc was good size. Now it's pretty small.
8. Nice weather means use more caution. There were more deaths between May to September than any other months. If you don't ride regularly, don't just break out the motorcycle. Practice in a parkinglot first.
Again...makes sense. That IS peak riding season.
9. Weekends are way more dangerous than commuting. 42% of deaths happened on Sat and Sun as opposed to the entire rest of the week. Monday - Wednesday were the lowest. Remember commuters are USED to commuting. People on weekends aren't paying any fucking attention.
Many more people ride on the weekends as apposed to commuting to work. Case in point....how many motorcycles do you see while driving to work as opposed to on the weekends? How many bikes do you see in work parking lots?
10. Later is NOT better for riding - riding between 3 and 9pm is more risky than early morning or late evening.
Also the time when people are out of work and out for a joyride. Not as many bikes on the road during the workday or after dark.
These are all true stats, and good to know, but the true reasons why the fatalities are higher are not given. Simple answer: There are more motorcycles on the roads at certain times as opposed to others.
Did I make any sense, or just sound like a dick? I'm kind of pissy today, so I probably just sounded like a dick. Ahh screw it. Wedding with open bar at 6 tonight. The day will get better.![]()

oh, and now that i'm sober, those stats might actually indicate that women suck more.
it depends on what the exact proportion is, but i'd venture a guess and say that more than 91% of riders are male, meaning that women are disproportionately represented in motorcycle fatalities.
women riders probably tend to be more careful, though...
