I don't want to screw with Manny... especially since he started this.

I went back and looked at the original rules and it doesn't specifically state that both the old tag and new tag photos need to be posted for the tag to be "closed"

But... I think the rules should be reviewed and clarified. Otherwise, someone could post a pic of the current tag and then take days to post up a new one.

I kind of like the sense of urgency to quickly post up pics of old and new tags... that would keep this moving quickly.

but then people would take a pic of the new tag and then ride over to the current tag and post them both. that might be what the "no file photos" rule means

The only rule in this regard is that the following tag photo must be taken after the original tag photo.

No file photos means you can't use one from your collection and say it's a tag photo. Generally the weather or similar will give a clue how legit it is

i still say that we have to give people some time to ride over to the new tag

maybe make it a rule that they have to post the new tag within a certain time limit

I wasn't disagreeing with ya ,only cause I don't own a teleporter yet.


But, it might exclude many folks from the game if they are not rolling around with cameraphones/smartphones that have the ability to upload to a website. Shortly it becomes a much more limited audience if people have no chance of getting a tag if it means they go out and take a pic and by time they get home someone else posted it up wirelessly. Not because it excludes them, but because the competition isn't necessarily as level.

Until that moment the tag should be left open (keeps the game moving forward at a faster pace and keeps the pressure on).

in the VT Tag O' Rama game, someone just took the pic of their bike in the tag and then said the new one is "coming up soon", but someone skipped them and posted their tag and a new one already

Rider B shows up at 9:30 and takes a picture and posts wireless and say "New tag on it's way"

I know there are all kinds of scenarios and permutations which could make the first rider to the tag get screwed too (just like you posted), but I think its most fair for it to remain open until the new tag is posted.

I think the fair thing is 1 post must contain both photos, however if it is determined that said post includes stock photos or photos taken in advance - users are dq'd from the quarterly round

I agree only because us poor folks only have a "regular" cell phone. Both old and new tags should be posted at the same time or at least within 30 minutes of each other (some are slow on the computer).

Nice FirstDuc. I thought it was a tough one but you got it in no time. I thought about pulling into one of the rich peoples yards for a tag but I thought that might be to much.

Here is the problem with allowing the tag to stay open until a new one is posted...it discourages people from searching out places a little farther from the current tag.

I looked at it as the goal is to get to the tag. That is the part that is "quick". Once you get it, and get it and post it first, take the time (short time obviously) to find a new good tag.

I will start a new thread to debate this issue so this one doesn't get cluttered.
