Is it standard procedure to tow away your bike?
My teacher sideswiped a bicyclist in cambridge and cops did not take away his car, or license.
I laughed my ass off. The rider was all ' Hey, look at them snazzy cyclist shirts. I always wanted one of.....OH SHIT'
Pretty sure it was the guy who runs that channel himself who explained why. IIRC it is a decreasing radius, and it looks like it also loses it's camber. Which is exactly why they all sit there with cameras. And assholes do what they do best whenever they spot a camera.
I watched the slow-mo last night and I don't remember seeing him even hit the front brake. I think the suspension dive is just from him chopping the throttle. Which didn't happen until pretty late. As they are talking with the cyclist on the ground, the SV rider is just standing there with his hands on his hips and his helmet still on. Obviously doing the right thing and shutting up, but I just though the stance with the helmet still on was pretty "funny".
The commenters on the video, as always, were useless in debating roadrash as being minor. Forget that, watch the curve of his spine in the instant replay. I'd be way more afraid of that than some skin scrapes.

The SV rider must have been in trouble for the cops to take the bike...

Oh I'd say he's definitely up for a DTE or reckless.
Honestly I'm kind of surprised that anyone would cycle through there at all, considering that corner's well-known reputation for accidents and stupid drivers/riders.

At around 1:38 there's a close up of the bike leaking some fluid. I'm gonna guess it was coolant. You can also see a wet spot on the road a few seconds before that when they're picking up the bicycles. I think they towed the bike because it wasn't rideable.
Looked like coolant to me as well. But really, I have no idea.
I kept looking to see if I could see a head in the back of the squad car that pulls a left at the end. I think I decided that the dipshit did not get arrested.
Dang, I saw that video while perusing Youtube. Before I ever got my bike, I remember my boyfriend drilling it into my head that I need to look where I'm going. He's already gone through the not-looking part, when he fixated on the dirt curb of a ramp and slid off his bike as a result right onto the highway. He's alright, lesson learned, but I've remembered that ever since. Especially on ramps. What that dude did in the video was a huge rookie mistake, imo. What the hell was he doing staring at an ass of a bicyclist? I know that they wear super tights, but still...that's a Dragon's Tail or some similar name that rnickey tapes on, right? Even more sore, with those tight curves, you'd think they learn...
At the Skip Barber school they say, "The farther ahead you look, the slower things happen."

I'm about an hour ride from there....I still want to check it out (carefully)
It's OK. I hear it's super busy on weekends.
I'd investigate the other canyons, or head north on 33 (from Ojai) if you have some time...
