FZ-1 is another bike I was interested in trying. A guy I know has one with 80k on it and loves it. I too was torn between the DRZ and the DR. I chose the DR because it's stupidly simple to work on, and does slightly better on the highway.

It's a xb9. Mutant lightning/firebolt. It has clipons, and is NOT very comfy.

Probably Suzuki V-twin, but I'm pretty sure it's not Shitty.

As much as having on connecting rod longer than the other may sound awesome I don't know if it's a viable option.

    oh ha ha ha

I thought the sv's sat the same way... and when you talk about hardleys do you say 45 degree twin whenever you refer to the crap motor? or do you just say V twin... as an L shape is 90 degrees while a V shape is 45 degrees

what year FZ6 did you try out? i would offer mine, but sounds like you are already set on that front. I have no issues with my engine so am curious as to what you didn't like.

FWIW: definately take one of the FZ1's. I love the way they ride and that will most likely be my next bike.

No sir, a vtwin is a vtwin regardless of angle. The reason the duc guys say L is because of orientation of 1 cylinder being paralell to the ground and 1 straight up. But I digress...

Schleppy I still wanna ride that thing.

    0 < V-Twin < 180

That includes the "L-Twin." All L-Twins are V-Twins, but not all V-Twins are L-Twins. It's nothing more than a casual naming convention.

Yeah, that's pretty much the gist of it.

Good thing you don't want the Stinger, you've done the sv650 thing before.

when you put it that way it makes sense...

i figured it was more to do with the angle being 45 to 90 but simply put yeah it makes sense...

ok back to the trading of the bikes.

I felt like it took the thing FOREVER to build power. Very very soft at low RPMs. The bike was bone stock, so maybe that had something to do with it. I don't know. The chassis was great, it felt nice and light, and it was comfortable. If you're down for a trade I'll put you on the list. I'm definitely up for giving the FZ6 another chance.

Re: Anyone want to do a temporary bike swap?

I'd consider swapping a day of riding with an 848...any takers?

Definately would not be down for a weekend or a couple days, but I would do a couple hours and the person riding my machine would have to be riding with me.

Re: Anyone want to do a temporary bike swap?

The group i used to ride with a few years ago, we would swap bikes once in a while when out on a ride. It was always fun to get on another bike for a true comparison. I'd be up for bike swapping while out on a ride, but not into letting someone take it home for a few days
