Any landing you walk away from is a good one, isn't that what they say?

Glad you're OK. Stories like this one make me think gear is pretty affordable after all...

    Cheers,

I was reading your post and trying to figure out why your stomache muscles would help prevent a crash... Finally figured that one out. Yet another brain fart from Boston Chuck. I'll keep them coming don't worry.

(Actually, he didn't call it a crash!)

threw a bmw down the road

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Ouch
My fauld - oil + rain + car in front hammers on the anchors clearing an intersection - wheeeee. Not sure even abs could have helped - barely touched the brake (1 finger) had she tucked.
End result, one slightly mangled crashbar, and my right thumb sprained. Gear - worked perfectly

well, the whole 'object in motion' thing rather dictated the bike end up elsewhere from where i lost traction.

Glad you came out mostly okay, hope things go well with the insurance and the thumb and you're back on the bike ASAP.

Sucks to hear it, glad you are ok and the gear faired well too.

Are those Hepco Becker bars or TT? and the head was still dinged?!!?
Just make sure you check your vario's/mounts for cracking...I have heard about them cracking after a mishap and not revealing the damage till later on down the highway.

    One finger, eh?
If you look anything like the dude in your avatar, I'm surprised you didn't flip over the bars.

OEM bars - which I"ll be replacing with either Hepco Becker or SWmotech.
I'd taken my head covers off for a 12k valve service I did - amazingly easy, and was going to put them back this coming weekend. Whoops

Vario's looked ok, but will go over them properly later
