My plate is mounted on my swing arm and its sideways but you can clearly see it. What sucks is I saw him a half mile behind me and I could of just juced it up and disappeared.....Stupid me for stopping.

Once the "holier than thou" crowd sees this post, you may want to put your flame retardant suit on as I expect a flame war is coming your way!Originally posted by mycirus

Also, how did he tag you from a half mile away? Radar is normally used at 1000ft or less and I doubt you can get accurate speed estimates on a motorcycle by clocking from half a mile way. Small errors in time and distance estimates can result in speed error calculations. I would argue in court that from half a mile away it is impossible to accurately judge distance traveled for a clocked speed estimate especially with a small motorcycle.
Yeah, I am gonna fight it, I have nothing to lose. It was lame. He was mad too cause he was honking his buzzer at me to get me to pull over and I was going further down the road to find a safer place that wasnt on a downhill slope. He said I was lucky he doesnt arrest me for failure to stop for a police officer. I had my blinker on and I motioned that I was pulling over. He was out to get me from the get go. I hate over zellous cops.
Bruce
Nice job Bruce! Good luck fighting all the charges, you are sure to beat a couple of them and it sounds like this cop was either a rookie or at motorcycles!
BTW, do a search for fighting speeding tickets by Suf Daddy
Good luck fightin' the man. Where did he pull you over?

He said he was clocked... not radar... clocking someone has nothing to do with radar...
I realize that. The second half of my post pertains to clocking. I merely pointed out a radar fact.Originally posted by VinceF2

hey man, sorry to hear that. i just got one in my cage the last week for improper lane changes and failure to use a blinker. statey had someone else pulled over, nabbed me 2 miles down the road as i was exiting the highway. its bullshit. when was the last time you had a violation. if its been a while thats a really good thing to bring up. also when you go to court dress the part. if you look like a bum, they will just think your some punk. ive fought a few and i always dress professional and speak calmy and they have always, at the minimum, been more than 50% reduced.

420now what are we talking about
oh ya cops....they were very tolerant in CT yesterday...I was atleast 20+ on 2 occasions a cop was heading the other way...they didnt even blink....thnk you very much nice Mr. Occifer Sir![]()
I got MY court date continuance today at 8:30 AM..................![]()
so, I'm here to help.
Remember, you have 20 days to copy the ticket AND mail it in.
Not guilty I'd say...........
Now, You need to get video or a camera and make a "map" of exactly where you were when you saw him, he turned on the lights and about how fast you think you were going.
You'll have to measure distances etc......
It's what will impress the judge or procesuctor to cut some slack..........
NEXT:
Its time to make a copy of the ticket and post it for us to see. Blank out your name, the last 5 or so digits of the citation number, Bday, other private stuff. We'll look it over for ya.
Write down (notes) how EVERYTHING happened.................NOW.
Also, I did extra research on the web about Lidar this week and an NESR thread popped up so I'm really an "authority" now on the "www"......lol
in other words, let's not SPILL your entire defense on the public forum.........
When you get to court or the clerk magistrate (a WASTE IMHO) you're the responsible one who pulled over and DIDN't run like those squidly racers.........
and you're NOT taking one for them either!
So stand firm when the cop says you were slow to pull over: "Hey I SIGNALLED and moved to a safe spot off the road surface for ME and you............"
>>>two finger<<<
Either they'll cut the fine in half at the magistrate, or they try and pin one on you at trial.......either way its your call,
The focus is how the officer clocked you and that's how you'll go attacking the BULK of this citation.
You may get spanked for the headphones, unless they were around your neck.
Post the details so we can figure this out.
Photo Chop the personal info out BTW......

Suf Daddy.
Well, I went today at fought. Kinda lost. When I said I was only going 55, not 75 they took that speed. So I got it reduced from 420 to 260. Its still better than 400. Now I can use the extra money to buy better head phones for my bike. LOL
Bruce
should have paid an attorney
The license plate sideways is just stupid asking for it
Whats earphones anyway what bs is that

Or better yet a radar detector if you don't have one. It might not have saved you this time but it'll save you next time.
Oh and if you could see the cop 1/2 mile behind you was it really a good enough road to be speeding excessively on? What was it a 2-lane highway?
hey i have figgerd this much out if u have a street bike you are guilty this is the way cops think
It was a good fun stretch of road. I first saw him through the corner near the golf course. In the last pic you can see how you can see through the corner because the golf course is there. I was flying so what can you do. And just for the record there is no problem hearing the RC sing with headphones on.
