Hey guys, i got a few questions regarding tires and wheels.
1. have wheel sizes changed on specific bikes over the years? or have they remained constant? for instance... would a 01-08 rim fit on my 88 ninja 600R?
2. I have small cracks along the left and right side of my front tire, does it need to be changed? im assuming it does
3. Are tires on bikes like tires on a car? i have an all wheel drive mitsubishi so when i need a tire, they recommend doing all 4 for even wear. is this the same on a bike?

rim diameter for sportbikes has generally remained the same at 17"..... but back in the 80's and 90's, some bikes had 16" or 18" rims.... Either way, swingarms & forks have evolved and with them so have axels, hubs, etc... which means you're gonna have to find a rim for YOUR specific bike (unless a rim from another kawi will fit, you'll have to do some research)
cracks on a sidewall aren't exactly good... I wouldn't trust it.
Yes, generally you want to replace in set sunless you're looking to replace w/ the same make/model of tire.... but if your tires are old & cracking it's probably time for new rubber anyways.
Talk to BostonMoto, they're NESR's Pirelli Dealer & are the only tire guys I'll do business with up at the race track.

You can change one without the other. But you get better performance changing both together. If you the front and rear tires end up being very different in shape and construction type it can change how it handles.
The 88 Ninja take radials or bias ply? I WOULDN"T mix and match these!
