I wonder how many other Desmosedici owners have actually ridden their bikes this much:
5 digits tacho - 10000 km on a Desmosedici RR - ADVrider

if you're gonna drop that much cash on a bike, you might as well log some decent miles on it.
props to the owner
hurray, strikethrough!

That is AWESOME! +10000000 to that guy.
Don't they come with free maintenance because of the complicated valve adjustment procedure too? If ever there were a reason to rack up some miles...
wow impressive but i cant imagine that bike being comfortable to do those kind of miles
2006 Red Triumph Daytona 675

I rode in France last year when my wife I were there visiting her family. We borrowed her friends SV 650 awesome roads with great scenery.
That's awesome. I wish I could get a chance to ride one for 100 miles let alone 10000 km's.
It is a shame that all the owners don't experience their bike like this guy is.

On of my bud's in the hills of Northern CA rides his everyday. It happens...
He also wheelies the crap out of it, bikes are made to be ridden!!!

I love how everytime you say something about how expensive the parts are, or crashing it sucks, or anything with a Desmo someone retorts with this one.
It's still money and it's still expensive as shit. The wheels alone on that bike are 5k EACH. As I recall the tyres are about $1,000-1,500'ish a set. I can afford a $30 hamburger but that doesn't mean I ENJOY dropping the loot everytime I'm hungry, no matter how good the fucking thing is.

Over a grand for a set of tires?! Damn. Still, I would have to agree -- bikes are made to be ridden, not put on display. I would love to have the honor of burning through a set of tires on a Desmo.
