I picked up my latest two-wheeled death machine (a scooter) from the creator of this CBR:
Mike Kugler's 1997 Honda CBR 600 F3
Yes, that is a completely home-built electric CBR made to look nearly stock. He did this six years ago, and is still riding the thing today. He commutes on it. He has even drag raced it. I told him to check out the site, but he said he is not big on the internet other than for researching his projects. I think he said he was a motorsports fabricator by trade for a long time, but had no real electrical knowledge before starting these projects. Pretty cool stuff! He also had a home-built electric ATV. He said the CBR took 100 hours of study for him to feel comfortable buying the first components (this is AFTER already having completed the scooter, the ATV, and restoring an electric tractor).
Wow. He figured out how to make a Honda even heavier!![]()
A good friend of mine built an Electric Ninja as well. IT's been to Motorcycle Night in Lowell a few times last year. I'll try and dig up pics. I get lost when he starts talking about the 'science' behind charging rates, discharging rates and battery life.
I want to build an electric RS125!

Nothing like having 300 lbs of batteries on board.
You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style
We built an eBike. Has a two speed hub motor and a 48v LiFeP04 battery pack. Great for city use!
