well i expect my warmup lap to be in the low teens, then maybe track record on 2nd or 3rd pass. I called my insurance and asked if i was covered for all events that werent timed and got the thumbs up. dunno if i can afford to race in all seriousness.Originally Posted by Rambunctous
When you do a trackday make sure to come by 22 north and introduce yourself. The Zip Tie guys are on the other side of the benches too. They will be glad to meet you too. Make it a weekend and do some cornerworking. Free food and admission and some money too.
Regarding leathers requiring more effort to shift, etc.... Hmmm. I bought a pair of Vanson's last spring that were a SOB to ride in... I could barely move, and had to ride in them a ton to even break them in a little...as in, be able to get my feet back on the pegs when leaving lights, sheesh... then I bought a pair of Rev'its and they took zero breaking in, and were super comfortable and non-restrictive from the start.... they bent well in all the right places. So I guess it depends on the manufacturer... but it may be worth trying on some other pants to see what those feel like. I will never, ever, be wearing my Vanson's again is all I will say...
did you have womens vansons?
Along with the leathers, get yourself a really good back protector.
I have a 2pc alpinestars suit too, the legs ARE a bit restrictive. Im skinny as hell and I have to yank them up so that I can spread my legs wide enough to really lean off and move around on the bike.
I think unless you want to pay for custom, you are going to have to deal with some discomfort and restriction.
Good luck and see you at the track!

I have a 2 piece Joe Rocket and once I get on the bike and adjust the knee pads and get it all lined up right I hardly notice it at all.
Sometimes you just have to move the pant legs around a little bit on you while you're on the bike.

This is gonna sound retarded, but you can always take a shower wearing the pants, do a few squats and then air dry them.
Vanson leather is usually thicker than other brands making it more restrictive. And tougher.

doesnt sound retarded at all, my gloves and jacket always feel better after i get caught in the wet. I never thought about that. would it be a good idea to take the pads off?Originally Posted by Sprinkles
I don't think it'll matter if the pads are still in.
