I made the trip down to Seacoast Sport Cycle after talking with Jim last week and came home with a new toy....a 2010 Aprilia RSV4.
First off, let me say that this was by far the easiest motorcycle buying experience I have ever had. No haggling, no funny business, just straight talk. I was happy because I got a great trade in on my 848, and the price of the RSV4 was spot on in my opinion. I would highly recommend anyone looking to by a Ducati or Aprilia check these guys out.
Now, it was used, owned by a Seacoast tech. It only has 2800 miles on it with the Leo Vince GP slip on and a fender eliminator. It is bone stock otherwise. I thought about stepping up for the Factory version (which they also have at seacoast) but everything I read told me that I didn't need all the extra bits.
I got it home and took it for a quick ride and HOLY GOD is this thing quick. It has gobbs of power all through the rev range and it sounds like sex. The V4 sound though the Leo pipe is amazing. It is a bit taller than my 848 so I can barely tip-toe on flat ground but the seat is wider and more comfortable. The reach to the bars is what I think is less than the 848 and the bars seem to be up a bit higher. It seems to take a lot more effort to turn and isn't as "flickable" as my 848 was but it feels planted. I can't wait to take it for a longer ride in the nicer weather tomorrow.
I had such a big grin on my face the entire time I was riding it.

Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?

Beautiful bike. Looks mint. Congrats!

Awesome bike. Seacoast Rocks.
It definitely is mint. I forgot to add that a new tank is on order under warranty because this one has swollen a bit but still functions perfectly (plastic tank problem similar to ducati's). They are also ordering a passenger seat cover for me as part of the deal. I can't say enough how great seacoast was with this deal.
I'm looking to get some shift linkage or rear sets to make this puppy GP shift. Going from GP on the 848 and SV to regular takes a lot of brain power when I'm riding.
Anyone else have one of these? Seacoast said they haven't sold a ton, 25-30. This was the first stock one I got to see in person.
Nice bike. I've always had great luck with Seacoast. I've been thinking of looking at the factory, its a used
2010 right?
New track bike? Congrats on the new bundle of joy.
I would do unthinkable things to that bike!!
Love the white! Someday, I will have one of those.
Congrats on the new toy

That pipe is sweet... I love the sound of a V4.
The "flick-ability" can be dialed in. Drop the front end a bit.
Congrats!

That is so pretty I love those bikes I go into seacoast and drool occasionally.
Ride On,

I'm not nearly sophisticated enough for an Italian sport bike. But if I were...
To bad the new tuono is butt ugly. That thing is pure sex.
Seacoast is the only dealership I like. Congrats!
Congrats and I'll be over for a swap n ride ;-)

Is the new tank any different from the one you have now? If not, line that sucker with a good epoxy like Casewell BEFORE you put gas in it.
Maybe it was just the factory models but If i remember corectly you can actually alter the geometry of those bikes at the swingarm at the least if not the head angle as well, if you wish it to be more "flickable"
That is deffinately one of my more drool inducing favorite bikes. Congrats
Congrats. I sat on one at IMOC and couldn't believe how small they are. Awesome bike.
Looks like someone beat me to blowing their load on the seat.
