Triple Tree Adapter??

ok, I have a front triple tree stand (t-rex) pin style. The new bike (brutale) has no hole on the triple - similar to a ducati. T-rex sells a funky looking hook conversion for $75. I have seen a platform adaptor from pit bull (flat plate with wrapped edges that sits on top of the pin to support the triple). Anybody ever make one of these. I can't imagine its too difficult for a welder - just something to fit over the stock pin on the stand and support the triple of the bike.

I just think $75 is crazy for a conversion an existing stand and am looking for another alternative.
