My 2002 sprint RS has the same engine as the 2002 s3. A fantastic motor! My bike has 51k on it and no problems, and i've never heard anything bad about triumph's triples quality wise.
My vote is for speed, but I would be happy to own either of them. If I can find one I can afford I would love one as a second bike, and I will seriously consider it as primary bike when it's time to retire the sprint.
I think you'll be pretty pleased. I feel like the triples are the best of both worlds, lots of torque, but it still spins up pretty high. Plus, the s3 is one of the prettiest bikes around....
See if you can get a test ride. Performance cycles in shrewsbury offers demo rides sometimes. I rode an s3 there last year and I loved it.
heh heh
I own a Tiger 1050.
Bought it almost exactly 1 year ago.
8000 miles on it so far and I am just ramping up.
I love the torque and sound of the engine, the agility is amazing going through NH twisties and the comfort of the ride is wonderful.

daytona and street might both have 675s, but the output is different on them. I don't recall what is actually different, just that the street is significantly less powerful than the daytona.
I know it will not happen, but i'm waiting to see the 1050 in the Daytona Chasis....that would be a liter bike I would actually consider buying.

Ha, that's funny, Jeff posted his bike's for sale ad on the Bennington Triumph Bash site this morning too, and I told him he should post it here.
