Anything to look for on this bike?
I sold the V Strom maybe a month or two months ago and am really missing having a street bike.
I saw one for $1350 with under 30,000 miles but I can’t seem to find much information about it Aside from abrupt shifting or something from Wikipedia
Goal is to use it while my truck is getting serviced, commute maybe a couple times per week , Just own it for about six months then sell it for 1000 box and move on to a Big powerful touring bike to see the desert southwest

Factory mapping was bad, there were later updates that improved things somewhat but it was never perfect IIRC. They didn't play well with powercommanders or other piggy back setups either, the Siemens ECU was always trying to fight the changes. The idle air control system has two weak points that will cause headaches, first are the tubes from the IAC valve to the throttle bodies, cheap plastic that cracks with age causing air leak induced crappy operation. The other issue is the valve itself, the piston breaks free of the servo causing all sorts of hard starting / poor idle issues. Heavy and a bit slow compared to modern 600s, engine is similar in design to a Suzuki.
Oh, the engine breather setup is a bit wonky, they're prone to filling the airbox with oil on tipovers. Triumph updated that part but it wasn't a recall so something to consider swapping down the line yourself.
Here's the real question: who exactly are you going to sell it to when you've finished with it?
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
isn't any running bike worth a grand anywhere in the US?
@kurlon ya i saw the map sucks below 4k rpm...better for track, worse for street...but I rode an fzr600 for 10 years and have a plated smoker, so I am not sure that detriment applies to me
buy it, ride it, don't get emotionally involved, move on

In the UK, that's what's known as a herpes bike.

If you really want it, offer the guy $500. I guarantee that will be the best offer he gets unless he finds a real putz who is completely clueless.

I have a Speed Four which is the naked version of the TT600. I like the bike. They did fix the mapping by the end of the run of the four cylinder motor, but I don't think the TT600 can get the updates, could be wrong. It's fine for everyday stuff around town. I have had it on the track and it is an excellent handling bike, though the power is lacking. Kurlon summed up what I have heard about the series of bike.
I've owned one for far too long. I initially bought it because it was cheaper than a comparable Japanese 600 at the time. In the long run it has cost me more because parts are pretty limited to what you can find on ebay. Rear sets break super easy, fairings are hard to find and expensive. Not many aftermarket parts for the bike except for exhaust cans. Easy to tune with with TuneECU. I initially had a Power Commander but sold it once Tune ECU cracked the code or whatever for the bike since it's better to tune the ECU itself than to use a piggy back system.
My TT600 eventually stopped starting for a reason unknown to me but I rarely rode anymore because Boston roads and traffic suck. Might be an easy fix but I'd rather go rock climbing these days. If you do buy it and need parts, I got a full parts bike and some other shit stock piled.
Friends don't let friends wave to Can Ams
Down twice, spray painted fairings, rear brakes don’t work, headlights don’t work (hid kit installed)...it was ratchet, even for me!
