Biaggi is a great rider, but I'm not a big fan. To be honest before this year MotoGP was a little less interesting to watch, but it's getting better. I like Bayliss' story and he is a great rider. It's tough to differentiate how much is the bike and how much is rider. I remember watching Roberts the year he won the title and he was unbelieveable, now nothing. I have heard that the Suzuki is absolute shit though. I would like to see Maladin go over there and get his ass handed to him so he could cry about tires or whatever. In world racing I usually like to see an American do well.
as of the 27th. rossi has not signed with anybody yet. now we will see if it was the bike or the rider. dont be surprised if he goes to ducati.
That's a tuff one.... I'd have to say Alex Barros. He's been hurt all season, but he really proved himself last season. Yeah, him a Sete are pretty close. Max is fast as hell, but he cracks under pressure, plus he's a DICK!Originally posted by zombie
Yeah Valentino rossi is the man.
so who is the next best rider then???
here's what Nicky had to say about Max, after Max had ruined one of his qualifying laps:
"With Max, that's just kind of normal, kind of stuff that he does. He was on a slow lap and just cruising around on the (racing) line.
After we got the checkered flag for qualifying, Colin and I were riding together and Max tried to ride in between us (to the pit) so we closed up quick. Max had to shut off fast, and started his usual gestures, so we were flipping him off back. Other than leading the race, that was about the highlight of my weekend (laughs). It was pretty funny; I wish I had a picture of it."

That's what I mean about Nicky. He's just a good guy. When something like that happens to someone like Maladin he just bitches. Nicky just rolls with it.

How about the best racer ever? Unquestionably Mike Hailwood in my opinion. Killed in a car crash going to get fish and chips with his daughter.
degs
So true degs'
Mike the bike and lets not forget Mick Doohan , there were some really talented riders around in the old days.
Degs ' where do you rate Carl Fogarty in the race world' no doubt he was talented but his pissing and moaning got a little much at times similar to Mat "the moaner" Mladin.
Also one of my favorites to watch in the late 80's early 90's was Kevin Schwantz as the dices he had going with Wayne Rainey were classic's and he really let it all hang out , very exciting rider

I've got a video that is the 1991 year in review for the 500's . Watching these things buck and weave while all the time trying to spit riders off, when comparing to todays smooth, controlled Moto GP bikes definately gives you an understanding as to exactly how evil those things were. The classic battles between Rainey, Schwantz, Gardner, Doohan, Lawson, etc. make todays racing seem just a little bit tame. Still fun to watch, though.![]()
No one can argue with Ago's record but, realistically, the level of competition wasn't there. Because of his sheer dominance at a time when his rivals were all completely driven, rediculously talented, didn't crack under the slightest pressure (like so many of todays stars do) and fanatical about beating him, Mighty Mick Doohan is my boy.

Amazing. I never actually thought Jeremy Burgess and co. would leave HRC. That will put a serious cramp in their MotoGP effort. Hisknowledge and experience are unrivalled in the paddock. Next year looks more interesting by the minute![]()
