Yeah it sounds like a fucking sale ad, so what. Anyway, a guy that fly's with us as well as makes some of the best antennas for drones as well as other things has started a new YouTube channel. He is also a big bike guy, loves to get old pieces of shit and rebuild them. Being an electrical engineer he is always coming up with new ideas, so on his new channel he just made a new battery for one of his bikes using 18650 batteries and it kicks ass! If you have some DIY soldering skills it may be worth a go. 2 vids for some options.

FYes.
It’s not an ideal application, but not bad either. ABS does not have great chemical resistance. But it has decent strength and good impact and UV resistance.
The battery in my 75 BMW is gigantic and weighs 19 lbs. Made this for a test fit. I’ll add wall thickness, ribs, and a cutout to support a smaller modern battery while maintaining stock appearance.

huh... Bought the Shorai in my race bike like 6 years ago... never disconnect for the winter, never put it on a tender unless I left the ignition on and killed it, which I did a couple of times and it always comes back.
I just fired up the bike a few minutes ago... she hesitated a little but sprung to life w/o much of a problem.![]()

I watched someones bike at an NHMS TTD go up in flames at the bottom of T10 because they had built their own battery... Ill buy another Shorai when the time comes!

Yes, I’m sure they are great for a race bike, that you use when it’s warm out. Don’t ever use it in a street bike, especially when the weather cools off.
Mine lacked the power to start my Sprint 1050, and that was when I lived in New Orleans!
Even after trying the “tricks” to wake the battery up when it’s cold didn’t work. They sent me a replacement battery that had the same issues.
I’ll stick with lead acid batteries for my street bikes from now on! YMMV
Triumphs cannot be compared to other bikes. They are strangely sensitive to voltages. The shorai in my KTM is used year round including ice riding and it works very well until temps are in the single digits. I think they are actually the stock offering now at KTM. Also, the one in my racebike fires the bike up for practice even on cold mornings. Occasionally I will have to spin the starter a few times to warm up the battery, but not that often. I never even need to put these on a tender for the winter. By nature, they hold a charge incredibly well while sitting unused.
My experience is just the opposite. Just entering season 6 on my Shorai and I've never had a problem with the battery. I did drink the Kool-aid and buy the matching charger/maintainer, but I don't think that makes much of a difference. The one thing I did to the bike was to replace the R/R with a Shindengen and upgrade the primary wiring in the Sprint as a preventive strike. All well documented issues and fixes on RAT forums.
My suspicion is that your Sprint may have had charging and/or regulation issues that raise hell with the battery. Lithium battery and a Brit bike probably adds up to living dangerously, though.![]()

I’ve ridden tracks in temps down into the 30’s and haven’t had any issues with it starting my SV with a little engine work, which is arguably just as, if not more difficult to turn over than a stock big triple.
Like Paul and Stevie said, Triumphs can be electrical jerks.

ive had 3 li ion batteries , cheap ones, not shorais, ive had nothing but outstanding performance if you work them in correct environmental parameters (run tenders if not run regularly and understand they will start the bike until they will not its like someone turned off a switch) losing 10 pounds in weight of an 85 fj1100 dragbike made the switch a gimme, cheap cheap horsepower, just my experience, be advised the li ion equivalent is quite a bit smaller which is an additional plus....
