Post em up!
What was your first street bike and why did you decide to go with that?
Mine was a 1989 Honda VTR 250 (all 25hp) Yep the pink and teal and purple thing. BikePics - 1989 Honda VTR 250
I got it from a friend who's wife was pissed he bought it. I rode it for 4 months while he finalized his divorce and he bought it back from me for the same amount I paid him.
I decided to go with it because I figured it was my FIRST streetbike and starting smaller was the smart thing to do. (Plus I was broke and got a GREAT deal)
This was followed by a 1981 Suzuki GS500e...
(yep, that is me and my first burn out)

Hey Doc, is humility the first step in learning to ride like a pro? That pink bike definetely seems like it would be a first start.
1974 Yamaha TX 500
Next door neighbor had it, and sold it to me.
Decent 1st street bike, although I was trail riding before I got my license.
Also drove around a 1967 Honda.

First bike was a 1990 Yamaha XT350 dual-sport. I bought it because my coworker only wanted $500 for it and it was perfect to learn on.

Brand new 1984 Kawasaki GPZ750 just like this
wrecked it in 3 months and then wrecked a NinJa 600 the same year
a 2000 zx12r, I got it because it was the most comfortable for my tall ass.
1983 Yamaha Maxim 750. Bought it for $350 because it needed valve seals and some TLC. $50 in parts and two hours labor later it ran like a champ. 5000 miles later sold it for $750 at the end of the summer.

Nighthawk 750. It didn't look like it would kick my a$$. I didn't know how to ride, the service guy at the dealership I was working at loaded it into my truck so I wouldn't drop it. I had some dirt experience. Sold it a few months later for a Magna. Took the MSF bought a 600f4i and became an instructor.
96 FZR 600
Bought it dirt cheap for 800 bucks when I was 15 with nothing wrong with it...It did the job at that point.
82 Kawasaki kz-750LTD, god that thing was really too fast, thank god I had to get rid of it when I moved to NYC.
I piss excellence!
1974 Kawasaki F7
My first street-registered cycle. Rotary valve intake, dual plug head and state-of-the-art adjustable trail (3 positions for front axle).
