Really? Haven't been following AMA racing much have you? New R1 is getting creamed by the 2008 GSX-R, pretty sure the 2009 one will continue the trend.

New R1 is dog slow down the straights and to quote Josh Hayes "the worst handling motorcycle I've ever ridden". That was at Fontana mind you, seemed to be riding it better at Road Atlanta but that's a track he knows well. Bostrom was still slow at Atlanta.

Maybe in the AMA, but the R1 seems to be doing quite well in WSBK.

Besides, it's not new anymore, it's been ridden in the rain, put away wet and dirty, with only 280 miles on the clock
