Mass. man accused of topping 120 mph on motocycle
12 p.m.
July 31, 2008
Staff Report
A Mass. man has been charged with excessive speed, negligent operation and attempting to allude an officer after police say he was riding his motorcycle in excess of 120 mph.
The incident began a little after 6 p.m. Tuesday when Vermont State Police troopers pursued a motorcycle traveling faster than 120 mph on Interstate 91 from the Massachusetts state line, according to a State Police statement.
Police lost sight of the motocyclist near Exit 2 and terminated the pursuit, police said.
A short time later, the motocycle was seen in on Canal Street in Brattleboro and the driver again tried to elude the officer, according to the police statement. Officers were able to stop the motorcyclist behind a residence on Clark Avenue
Vermont State Police arrested Eric Skuse, 28, of Gill, Mass., on the charges. He was cited to appear in court Aug. 25 to answer to the charges.

"you might want to READ the "Running late for Bike night" thread." -said in a condescending Boston accent
Could also read that he stopped before getting far enough away that the cops didn't see where he went.Officers were able to stop the motorcyclist behind a residence on Clark Avenue
Either way that's just being stupid. It's stuff like this that makes them clamp down on everyone else for every little thing.
attempting to allude an officerGrammar much?tried to elude the officer

These are the type of people that give motorcyclists a bad name. If you are going to play in fire, you will have to accept the fact that you will get burned.

not to sound sarcastic... but.... hmmm, this is a sportbike (majority of) site... I'm pretty certain 80-90% of the peeps on this forum have twisted their throttle to see how fast they can go..... this guy was just stupid like others said and got nailed..... the media loves this shit, they get off on it.....
I'd kinda hope they'd be bright enough not to do it around 6 p.m. I figure that rush hour traffic isn't the best time to see how fast I can go (not that my Ninjette would hit 120 anyhow).
I'm assuming, of course, that rush hour traffic does have some impact on 91 near the state line.
Shel, you gotta do something about turning down the heat man. can't let one guy speak for all. you know that. same as on opposite side. we hear it all the time in the news but we can't turn anything up.![]()
"fuckit!"
The issue isn't that he was going almost twice the legal speed limit, it's the time of day and the fact that he bolted from the Troopers.
Very little good can come from running from the cops. You can't pay the ticket (and insurance surcharges), don't twist the throttle that much.
it's less likely to blast a person if you're doing it at 3am. deer/other fauna, maybe, but doing it at/near rush hour is just asking for trouble (injuring other innocent people).
if you wanna kill yourself/go "hunting" for deer, that's less of an issue than playing ricky racer around some soccer mom in a minivan with her baby twins in the back seat.
hurray, strikethrough!
...adventure timeadventure time...adventure time...adventure time
not defending the guy but he's probably not even close to 120 before the pursuit. as for soccer mom, wait till they bump into you while on cellphone then you can be nice.
"fuckit!"
I have no big problem with this guy losing the cops at 120 (not even that fast) on 91. He loses me though when he stayed on his bike IN THE GENERAL AREA afterward.
Damn man. If you lose the 5-0, stop somewhere quiet, ditch the bike, get picked up, come back that night or the next day or the next WEEK and get it.
Pissin off the Fuzz and then dorking around like you didnt do anything right in the area is a sure sign of one thing. Your parents are siblings.

The heat is always on in vermont....To many cops and not enough crime equals lots of traffic tickets.![]()
funny that car drivers do the same thing.... and we never hear about it. I used to "hover" around 120 all the time in my mustang on the high way. Bikes just get up there more easily so they tend to do it more often and w/ more traffic. I remember getting chased (not proud of it) back when I was a little younger. I pulled it behind some old guy in Boxfords garage, paid him to leave it there and came back later that night to trailer it home w/o plates like i was just repairing it. Mustang sat for a few weeks that time.
