    Whats in your emergency kit?

    I am just trying to think what to carry for emergecy repairs to keep you riding until real repairs can be made. I dont want to be stuck down south while on my trip.

    My thoughts,
    Small pair of vice grips.
    Adjustable wrench
    Flash light
    duct tape (Thats a given!)
    Zip ties
    Tire Plug Kit
    CO2 cartridge for fast tire fill.
    Motorcycle jumper cables
    leatherman type tool with screw drivers, wrench & knife
    Basic supplied tools for your specific bike.
    tire gauge.

    I am amazed that all this acually fits in my tail section. But nothing else will...

    Any other ideas out there?

    Who cares about the bike, anyone carry a first aid kit?

    Stupidly, I was only carrying it on overnight trips last year. Those were usually the times I was riding slowest/safest.

    and $5 worth of quarters on top of that... worth it for pay phone calls from areas where your cell phone doesn't work.

    Oh, and cotter pins of various sizes... infinitely useful!

    Oh yeah, and chain lube too!

    Oh That soo does it beeoootch.. You just volunteered to get & carry a first aid kit, thanks to Ben for making us aware! That was pretty dumb to not think of it, but I ran out of room! Oh you can carry the CO2 cartridge....

    first aid kit is one of the things in my saddlebags... but I or rather Mark has been using it around the house during my home remodeling project, and it is severly understocked now

    That is a great idea, I will grab that from my backpack, now my first aid kit is a little big but maybe I can make it smaller. I think I might just take my tank bag and bungee it on top of my rear seat if I get the tank mount for the camcorder.

    zip ties (big ones)
    Leatherman Wave
    std Triumph tool kit with a few upgraded wrenches
    cell phone
    spare clutch cable (!)


    Also in the tank bag:
    extra gloves
    maps (real paper ones, not a GPS)
    Valentine V1
    ear plugs
    kickstand plate
    rain gear (if not wearing my Sympatex gear)
    digital camera (sometimes)
    chain lube
    towels and windex to debug

    all i ever carry is the stock tool kit and some zip ties.
    its all i have needed so far too.

    i can see a tire kit and pliers too.

    nobodies ridden much compared to you randy.

    in my opinion i put a lot of miles on my bikes, ~15k a year, and i am very particular about taking care of them mechanically.
    i have probably just been lucky so far

    I have rarely used my kit for myself, my bike is professionally maintained, but the kit is often to rescue others though
