What's a "real bike" and why do Harley riders wear shit like that?

"Get a real bike you fuckin' pussy" are the words I got to read on some guy's t-shirt this evening while waiting in the line at Ayotte's.

While in line, I got to talking with my friend, Scott, who's also a manager there, about this person's t-shirt.
His opinion is a "real bike" is one that goes "vrooom"......Sounds good to me.

I jokingly responded with something to the effect of "it's a bike that's not missing 2 cylinders and 125 horse".
Lemme tell ya, that got someone's attention...: Thought the FJR was gonna get knocked over after.

In reality, I agree with Scott.

So, what's a "real bike" made of?

A real bike has two wheels and a motor, period (hell, I'll even drop trikes in for those who physically can't ride a standard bike). Singles, Twins, Triples, I-4, 6, whatever. American, Japanese, Austrian, German, anything.

...the more important question, to me, is what's an appropriate t-shirt to wear in public....someone should have kicked that creeps ass. I can change the channels on the tv and have some contol over what my kids read and watch, but when it's in your face like that you really have no choice...

I responded that its a motard, Im sure he had no idea what I was talking about, but then I rode away and gave him a wave, cause really, he's already crippled with stupidity, a wave probably makes his day. One of my techs has 2004 1200 Sportster. He thinks it's the coolest bike ever. I taunted him forever because Suzuki was saying that they were faster than a Sportster out at the dealer show. I rubbed it in every chance I got. One day I got him fired up enough to actually challenge me to a drag race up Rt. 68.


Needless to say, his American Iron got pissed on by a scooter with push button manual shifting... That was the last I heard about the Sportster.

I was at the rmv today, and a guy was wearing a shirt that said "rehab is for quitters". I was like who talk about an ignorant ass fuck, how can someone shit talk something that benefits people and their families. It's like what the fuck point are you trying to make. I'm all for freedom of speech but some shit is better left unsaid.
But yeah a real bike to me is a bike cable of of all the speed limits, that excludes mopeds and scooters. They just don't tend to have the same community as motorcycles do. You don't often see a group of scooters going for a ride together.

I just hate how everything is judged on what it will do to the children! I guarentee, any kid that can READ that guys shirt has heard worse things in his life at school or on the playground or whatever. Although I try my best to not swear and stuff in front of kids, thats more of a personal thing. I hate it when people try to tell me what I can and cant watch on tv, or play on a video game or whatever, simply because it might screw with kids minds. Fuck the children.
