Two night ago I bought a DR650, and so far it's a blast. I absolutely want to convert it to a supermoto (yes, I know it's too heavy, I don't care), and I'm looking for a place to lace up a set of 17" wheels.
There are a few places online that sell DR650 17" wheel kits, but they start at $1000. I've been told it can be done for less locally.
So, does anyone know of any good wheel builders in MA/NH/ME?
Thanks!
The only way to do it cheaper is to reuse your OEM hubs, The 17 inch excels are NOT cheap. It's sometimes Easier to buy The new Kit (check out Wheeling cycle supply) and then you still have the OEM wheels if you sell the bike and Can get Good money for The 17's.

Does DNA or Warp9 make a kit for your machine yet? They seem to be running anywhere from $600 to $800 a set, the Warp9's generally include rotors too.
Warp9 has one coming out in a couple weeks according to Motostrano. I've heard mixed things about Warp9 though...
I assume you saw this on SMJ, factoryproracing has them in stock, no price listed

If you don't scrape in turns then regular wheels with good tires will be fine
