I want to see how they fits my feetsies but can't find anyone who stocks the damn things.
Brockton Cycle has 'em in a 43, but I'm pretty sure I'm a 44 and dunno if I wanna go all the friggin way to brockton to try out damn boots.
Seacoast sport cycles dropped A* and carry sidis exclusively, I liked the sidis but I want to compare before I buy, some things about the sidi boot didn't fit quite right and I'd like to check out the A*.
Naults Ducati, same thing, only sidis. "Alpinestars are a one-crash boot" they say. Hmm, seems to me like I've seen plenty of crash tested smx plus boots. Couldn't have anything to do with the margin on a pair of $400 vertigos compared to a $200 A* boot could it?
Naults Windham doesn't carry street boots anymore. Apparently they don't sell. Yeah they'll sell you a ZX10R with 165 bhp but can't put anything on you to save your feet. Typical.
Cycle World in Londonderry:"What's an alpine star?" Yeah, thanks.
WTF? I want to pay $250 for a big strip of leather (ahem,
"lorica) with a few bolt on plastic pieces that's probably assembled in china for $15 a pop and can't find anyone willing to take my money?
You mentioned you like to kick cats and dogs.
When you're finished abusing them maybe you should make yourself some custom boots from the hides.
Well that's an idea but with VIR coming up so quickly I don't really have time for a DIY thing, I'm looking for an off-the-shelf solution.Originally posted by benVFR

Now if you said to me "Hey forget the SMX boots I know these boots that are great, made from real cats and dogs" that'd be a different story.
Well if you don't like Sidis and you are willing to shell out $$ you can go over to Motomarket, they have several brands other than Sidi.
I love my Daytonas, IIRC they were around $250 or maybe a little less.

What size are your feet in 'real' sizes?
I am an 11.5 and I have the 44s... The SMX+ seems to run REAL big. Dont get me wrong, they are tight, but I can be out for 8 hours and not even think that I'd rather be wearing something else. Heck, I dont take them off till the bike is all put away![]()
