Much to my dismay, the left hand thumb has completely worn through on my Held Ninjas (damn constant blinker use around town!!). I'm going to try and contact Held and see if they can fix them, but I'm not very optimistic.
Can anyone recommend another decent set of gloves that won't break the bank? I'd like to spend under $100 if possible.
I just picked up a pair of teknic excelerators from sportbike trackgear for about 170? I think. The lightning is under 100 though and getting awesome reviews. http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com...loves%3ATeknic
Bit more but well worth it

I use both of these gloves for street and track and they are the balls.

I personally stay away from Rev'it. I've bought both boots and gloves from them around the same time, and the quality has been not so hot. The gloves split at the seam on the palm in 2 weeks, and second set (replaced by MotoMarket for free) did the same. Stitching on the boots started coming out only after a few months as well.
I wouldn't trust the gloves in a crash at all.
Maybe I just a bad bunch??
I use Olympia 340 gloves. Love em.
I haven't heard great things about Rev'it durability either. Surprising too when you factor in their ludicrous prices.
I'm gonna stop by local places and see if they have anything decent on closeout. If not I'll hit the interwebs.
Love my Olympia's. On my second set. Comfortable, holds up great, good protection.

This is what I have. Works like a charm. Price is right too.

I have these and have crash tested them many times. Work awesome and are a great value.

Not a huge brand, but if you google them, you'll find all positive reviews....

As much as I dislike Icon, those gloves do look decent. The Coretechs and Kobe's also look good too.
I think I'm going to have to admit to myself that I won't find the deal I did on my Helds. I got them from a local dealer for $35. Best deal on gear I've ever found.
Racer High End if you can find a pair on ebay or something. Awesome gloves.
Tuono
If you are at the track this weekend you can try them out.
And I also am not a big fan of the Icon name. The reason I got these was that all of the guys that raced out of the shop that I used to work at wore them and I followed suit. There was 1 website that I found online that had them for seventy something dollars. And they do run very small. I usually take a Medium and I am a XL in Icon.

I just replaced a set of merc gauntlets they never saw pavement so I can't comment on crash worthiness. But they were quite comfortable and lasted me about 10-12000 mi. Before the seam on the insidefabric under the guntlet flap popped and the left middle finger wore thru. They were deffinately a great glove for me. But if I were to buy another set of 100 dollar gloves as I said before I'd go with the new teknic lightnings; http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=7706
They have a lot of safety features for a glove with such a low price. And they look nasty in the red and white! Also if they have the same grade of leather that my excelerators do then they are going to be an amazingly supple glove.
I ended up spending the extra 70 bucks and getting the excelerator; http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=7704
They are full leather with kevlar reinforced back and a kangaroo palm. As well as knox palm sliders like the lightning I pointed out above. I was hesitant about the palm sliders but you really don't even notice them on the bike. Also I have to say they are the most comfortable glove I've ever tried on. I can't wait to log some real miles in mine.
The Held Speed is on sale at http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=4842 for $129.95. A little less protection than the Phantom, as it doesn't have stingray, as well as some other options. It does have a Kevlar lining and kangaroo hide. If I didn't already have the Phantoms, I would be buying a pair of these. The link above is for red, but they also have them in black.
I just ordered these by AXO http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/s...er+race+gloves
