looks liek something BenVFR would ride.
Nice ride man!! That or the FJR will probably be the next bike in my collection.![]()

yer not getting a SUPERCHICKEN?????
Goodie goodie....I got someone I can pester again!
BTW I have been comunicating with a couple boys from Europe, mainly the UK, and they are getting some impressive HP numbers outta the SV1000.
Renagade seems to be winning the horsepower race so far.
And they haven't even remapped yet (PCIII USB is still not out yet)
You shoulda gone for the SV1K...Way better Bike!![]()
Too old to rock and roll, too young to die.
Hmm... yah, I looked at the SV1K a lot but I've always wanted one of these. This costed more but I didn't pay full price so it wasn't that much more than the SV1k.
I haven't gotten to ride it much yet, I did about 60 miles yesterday, but it was raining, so I'll have to wait a bit to give a first impression...
It's amazing in the rain though.![]()

Much less stressful to ride than the SV in the rain, even with the brand new tires.
It seems softer on the bottom then the twin but it's so smooth it's hard to tell.
Definitely need help setting up the suspension though.
Ben
so you went for it, eh?
i thought you would...
congrats and stuff.
The only "intuitive" interface is the nipple.
Looks like a heavy duty VFR. It's even heavier than my bike, finally a bike I can beat in the twisities![]()

V-4s are cool, I looked at VFRs for a while. But, they are expensive used (and new) and I found a great deal on my bike.
Have fun riding it!
14" Biceps. So what if I am weak...
Congrats man. That is a schweet bike.

I definitely need to get the suspension adjusted. I think it is way too soft but I'm reluctant to start messing with it without doing it right. I wish I could come up to the track this weekend.
I just got back from riding through some pretty f*cked up roads tonight with my roommate and the suspension was going crazy... at least as bad as my SV would have been doing. Same exact type of thing too, suspension going nuts but getting on the gas fairly hard makes it all better.
Ben
If the fork is giving you problems, twist the throttle abruptly in a low gear while leaning back on the motorcycle. This will instantly smooth out the front end.
If the rear of the bike is giving you problems, quickly squeeze the front brake while carrying a decent rate of speed. This will quickly alleviate any rear suspension problems.

If neither of these work, try doing what I do. (this may be really wrong, who knows)
Adjust front and rear pre-load first with the compression and rebound lowered. Once the preload is setup to your desired setting, then adjust the compression. I usually go front end, then back end, as you can usually feel the difference more in the fork. Finally, do rebound to get rid of the "bounce-back"and sway. It takes a while to do, but typically it will get you the closest thing to your idea of good ride quality.
Anyone got a better way to set it up? Please let us know!

Bring that beast up to the racetrack. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone around the NESR Racing pit that'll help you dial that Big Gal in...![]()
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
Way to go Ben.. She looks sweet. did ya get ABS?

sorry it's taken me so long to chime in here, Ben... but great choice in a step up. I'd be green w/ envy if I weren't getting to ride Mick's RF this weekend![]()

I'll be a smart ass and tell ya that it's non-ABS... like mine...
the ABS has gold calipers I believe and a sticker on the fender denoting the ABS...

Not worth the extra grand IMO....
Mike
No.. they weren't willing to deal on the ABS ones as much...
The linked brakes haven't bothered me so far... I got to practice a few panic stops and the bike doesn't dive at all to the front when you stomp on both brakes.... if you just get on the front hard it dives a little. I haven't been able to lock up the rear brake yet.
Really wish I could stop by the track this weekend. I'm heading up to Vermont for a family thing... maybe I could stop by the track on Friday afternoon if anyone is going to be there. If I leave on friday I don't think I have time to do Rt. 100 and twisties the whole way there anyway.
Ben
Nice... i like the bike... looks very nice... good job!
Nice ride. I almost went with the VFR, but the price was right on the VTR. No one I spoke to was really willing to move much on the price. They sell quite well I guess. Enjoy!![]()
EDIT: Just looked at your profile. You found a leftover? Where did you get it? Just wondering...
Wow, you've got a lot of two-wheeled stuff in your garage!
