I went to the town hall in Guilford Maine today to check on maybe registering the YZ426 for the street. The clerk made a phone call to the main DMV office and they said yes it could be registered as long as it passes the basic motorcycle safty inspection![]()
Once it;s registered, i'd be issued a salvage/homebuilt title for it.
Man what a fun street ride this bike would make![]()
I thiunk Baja Designs makes a street lighting kit for it that removes quick if you want to go racing![]()

You'll prolly have to rewind the stator. The BRP I am looking into, will likely get the same treatment.

I't's looking like the stator from my quad is compatable with the YZ but i still have to confirm. If that's the case, shouldn't be a problem getting one![]()

Anyone else happen to see the article in the latest Cycle World about the 426 powered racebike? Someone took a 125cc GP race bike and put a 426 Yamaha dirt bike engine in it, and some modern plastic on it. Really neat bike and I thought it would make a killer back road weapon.
I think an Aprillia RS50 with a 125cc two stroke dirt bike engine would be really cool for back roads too.
I think a ZX12R powered, single-seat, dune buggy (Honda Oddessy ATV style) would be a riot.
Wish I had more time and money.
