    ZX-11 to suspension to stiff

My ZX-11 rides real rough.. I can feel every bump ...

I weigh 165 and when I ride 2 up with the g/f the total weigh is about 260. At that point the bike rides much nicer.

If I ride her 250 alone it is extremely comfortable. It feels like a dirt bike type suspension compared to the ZX.

If I back off the collar in the rear suspension will it loosen it up or will it change ride height?

Ride height. (to a certain point, then it won't let the shock have any down-travel if you max it out vs not, but that's not here nor there)

Try taking some compression out in the forks and shock. The front forks have adjusters at the top for a screwdriver if I remember correctly. It's not a lot of "clicks" of adjustment, but the holes in the fork for the valving go from pretty small to pretty large.

Spring pre-load does not affect suspension softness, only ride height and static sag. To soften the spring, you need a different rate spring.

See if it has adjustable compression damping, that'll soften things up. If not, see if you can replace the oil in the shock with something with lower viscosity. It's probably got something like 15W or 20W in there now. Try 10W suspenion fluid.

You can lay off the salad and eat more wings and fries too.
