Agreed. At the very least a CE level 1 back insert. If you don't know if yours is CE rated, go check. If it's not, go order a level 2 one from somewhere. I recommend getting the SAS-tec from Revzilla.

Would someone please explain to me why a person would wear less gear on the street than they do on the track... so just to be clear, this only applies to people that leave their leathers, back protector, etc. at home and wear (kevlar sometimes) jeans and so on when on the street.

Yes, you're not pushing it on the street like you do on the track, however... with the added dangers of cagers, guard rails, sand (dirt, pebbles, etc.), stupid fucks, etc. I am confident to say that the street is more dangerous than the track, therefore, it would make sense to wear equal or more personal safety equipment.

Think about this: how would you feel if you got injured (your fault or not) and had a piece of PSE sitting at home that may have lessened or even prevented it. I will never have that regret.

You make valid points Jeff. I wouldn't ever wear my one -piece suit on the streets because it wouldn't be comfortable or reasonable walking around. My gp pro jacket is arriving Saturday which I intend on getting matching leather pants for.until those are bought I will continue to wear kevlar lined jeans and ride defensively on the street to minimize risk. So far that disposition has proved to keep me safe and my bikes still looking as good as the day I bought them.
