Doc, I'd probably be up for a ride this weekend, if the weather doesn't suck.

this is where we are meeting. FYI. Little food shop called Eagin's. Catch us there for food around 1130. Ride to follow. App gap and T Road.
Right now, 75 degrees and only 30% chance of rain, scattered showers.
You know the forcast will change between now and then but who knows.
So is anyone still thinking about tomorrow (the 12th)? I could still be up for it if the weather cooperates (although that's looking less than likely), but I was wondering if anyone else was still in.
If not, I'll probably plan on riding up to Waitsfield on Wednesday and maybe on catching Bike Night tomorrow night (if the weather looks decent).
No go for me tomorrow / today. Just got home and haven't slept in since last Wednesday. Sucks in restaurants I just finished my work week. I have Thursday off...
I come in to work today and my two wonderful co-workers so nicely divided up the rest of the week amongst themselves, for paid time off. how nice. I have to ditch at least 2 days this month or I lose time, and neither of them have anything to worry about...they take PTO all the friggin time. how considerate. rant off
so any plans to hook something up this weekend perhaps?
So we had quite the ride yesterday. KBroderick and Nashua matt were the ones that showed up. Matt took a little longer than expected because he didn't know how far up 100 that 17 was.
First thing was lunch. The warren store makes great sandwiches. Super place. However, as we were walking inside, Matt noticed Broderick had cords showing on his rear tire, so that cut his day short.
From there, Matt and I headed up the gap. Things of not, some truck look liked it was spilling fuel as it went West on 17. Every right hand turn has a dark line near the yellow that looks like diesel fuel was spilled on the road. That and there is some serious gravel in the first corner on the Bristol side of 17.
From there we headed over to NY. Missed 95% of the rain. We only rode through 5 minutes of light rain, just before the bridge. Roads were wet when we made it over but not so bad.
We hit up EP road first. Still extremely wet and hand some standing water on it so we took it kind of easy. 9 north from EP road was soooo rough.
Got to T road and it was starting to dry out, sun was out and the water was spotty. First trip through was Matt's first time. Got to the end and, turned around and went again. Then a third.
On the third trip though, Matt had a problem. His brand new Triumph Daytona 675 SE (must stand for sucks electrically) shit out on him. In the middle of the road, LCD display went, tach stuck at 5k and nothing else worked. No horn, no blinkers, no tail light, no brake light. Nothing except the headlights worked but the bike would still run. So we got to the end of T road and he shut if off. Couldn't find the problem and the bike wouldn't start. Called up the two dealerships we knew of and they were no help whatsoever. Just as we were calling a flatbead, Matt noticed a small fuse box/relay cluster underneath the left part of the fairing behind the headlights. Found two fuses blow and lucking had one replacement in the box. Popped it in and everything came back. We got moving and blam, everything goes out again like 2 minutes down the road.
Long story short, we ended up buying more fuses so he could start his bike up every time he had to stop (gas etc..) T Road was amazing and we had a blast over there, until the problems.
Whoa crazy story. Must've been some water triggering a short? That's weird.
That's surprising about the Daytona's electrics. For the most part, Hinckley Triumphs are very reliable, and I know quite a few people who between them own nearly every model Triumph makes. Guess Matt got one of the very few lemons.

We had also noticed earlier (i.e. before stopping for lunch) that Matt's taillight and running lights were non-functional. Were those the other fuse that was blown?
I stayed at a buddy's house in Williamstown and headed home the next morning. What I noticed was triggering the fuse blow out was when the bike was in gear and I revved it a bit (not redlining just a little...maybe 4k). So, i quit doing that. I also usually shut the bike off with the kill switch and then turn the key. I turned the key when i stopped for gas instead of the switch. When I turned it back on the check engine light was off and I could rev it all I wanted and no short!!! I don't get this noise...
take it back and trade it for a gixxah.
Search the triumph675.net forum. The kill switch is a big No no on our bikes. The '06s had a recall and they had to add a relay because the kill switch was F'ing up the computer and toasting that too.
And God knows you can't afford gixxer gear and chrome. It won't be worth it.

BTW, whomever spray painted the frost heave that bit Chiwawa, thanks.
Its really noticeable now, except for those people that have target fixation problems, then they hit it anways when they come around that right hander not knowing its there.
