I actually like T2 more. I like the drifting part that I put the cart into at the back.

T1 the cork screw and be a tricky one as well. You need to introduce a drift using the down hill and get the cart positioned and pointing into the groove that is very small. Slightly off and you're crossing up the steering wheel and need to straighten out to get traction. At this point you are going wide and already behind for the next turn.

ok, I spoke with Andy in Sales over the phone and since we only have 8-12 people, he recommended the mini grand prix. The endurance race is typically for groups of 20 or so

    on Sunday 1/25:

track 1 (min 8 people, max 10) is free from 11am - close

track 2 (min 10 people, max 12) is free from 2pm - close

    I'd say 2pm is good
...it gives you the opportunity to save money and eat lunch at home, gives an hour for you to drive there, and it doesn't matter if we have anywhere between 8-12 people, because both tracks are available at that time

He said it was $80/person, and they don't offer any discount, but I asked if there were discounts for students (I'm in grad school) and he said that would take 20% off.

So when it's all said and done, it's $64/head and we get 45 laps (3 ten lap races, 1 final 15 lap race) for 30 mins

and if we book more than 14 days in advance we have to pre-pay 50% of the cost up front, then the other 50% within 14 days of the event. if we book w'in 14 days of the event, we pre-pay the whole thing

    here's the roster

    1. Bhavesh
    2. Noxin
    3. TheIglu + leathers
    4. Daytona440
    5. McBiggity
    6. TriumphDog

    7. DuncanMoto (won't know until Sunday morning)

    nt650hawk - spectating (c'moooon...that won't be fun! )

we need at least 1 more person to book track 2, and at least 3 more to book track 1....anyone else?? R7? oreocabrio?

For the down hill corkscrew, its the perfect spot to upset for inside pass just as you start to drift out, just make sure those teenage marshall didn't see you doing that.

    good question!

so I called about doing this and the rep said track 1 and track 2 are only connected for league racing and large private corporate events.

to book a large private corporate event, you need to rent both tracks for an hour. Track 1 will be $1,800 will be and track 2 will be $1,600. In addition to that initial $3,400 figure, you need to pay a track connection fee ($$?) and the weather can also play a factor on allowing us to do this (no snow) since the connector is outdoor

Sounds fun and I'd be into something like this in March or April, but the next 2 months are prime ice riding, and that's my plan

    Re: f1boston

I did track 2 last year and didn't like it much, though I managed fastest time of the group (my brother's grad school group). Coming from brazil where there are plenty full outdoor circuits with karts running 80km/h+ on the straight, I thought F1 was kinda shabby- especially for the high price.

But hey, when I get back that's the only karting option in MA right? So count me in (definitely if it's track 1, maybe if it's track 2). I'll see if my brother can come if you're short on people.

and here's another reason why to come to brazil: http://www.kartodromogranjaviana.com.br/ only 15 mins away from my house... and it's summer now too.

    roster updated

so far we have 8 confirmed, and 4 maybes

we're good to do track 2!

but if we get 1-2 more definites, we can do track 1 (larger, elevation changes)

it doesn't look like we'll have a definite roster list by this Sunday so we'll have to pre-pay the full balance by next week

I just ran some laps with that coupon, and all I can say is: this is going to be a blast!

I also found that you guys are going to destroy me. Of each 15 lap race I did, only 4-5 laps were in the 20's; and my best time was only 20:547

thanks for the patience, forum organization is often tricky, but as of now we should be all set with meeting the minimum (10) requirement

I am pending 3 payments, but I will let you know (within a day or so) if any of those fall through and whether or not we need another one to hit 10

this is going to be a great winter fix!
