Not sure if you have a route planned yet but it should be nice enough that 1A from Salisbury to Portsmouth would be a nice ride for part of the day......and that dumps out at The Beach Plum in Portsmouth for lobster rolls and ice cream![]()
Ohhhh!!!!
There's that ice cream again![]()

No ice cream, dammit!
I'll make a decision about route and times by 6 tonight.
OK, the basic outline would be this:
This is intended to be a sloooow ride. Not so slow as to put us to sleep, but my skills are still in Winter mode, and there'll still be lots of sand, cagers, and blind right-handers. If you get your knee down it'll be because you fell over at a stop sign.
We'll meander through North Andover, Boxford, and Georgetown, making our way towards Exeter, and Stratham, eventually ending up in Portsmouth.
I looked at the Beach Plum and at Street 360 for a destination. They both look great, but I decided to go with Street 360 since they've been kind enough to host a Bike Night.
I'll try to prepare a route using BaseCamp or equivalent so Garmin users can download it (assuming I can figure all this out by this afternoon). Let's make the return trip a free-for-all, so you can terrorize the locals at your convenience.
Stands up at Fuddruckers on Route 114 in North Andover at 11:00. A wild-ass guess says we should be in Portsmouth by 12:30... or completely lost, one of the two.
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
Title should be "Recovered From Heart Attack Celebration Ride"....... Just sayin
Glad you're well.
Well assuming I don't get lost looking for fuddeuckers, I'll be there all fueled and ready to go.
Tomorrow should be great, weather looks really nice and we were able to get a babysitter so my wife gets to go for her 1st ride on the new bike!!!!
Ok after checking mapquest it appears that fuddruckers is right next to your complex so I shouldn't have any problem finding it!!
I'm glad to hear you are doing well bud! The six is sitting in the shed covered in cobwebs so I'll be happy if I just manage to get it cleaned this weekend. But let me know if you want to head out again soon. I'm right in Chelmsford not that far.
"You don’t need to tell me the horror story about your uncle’s buddy who wiped out his chopper while drag racing at some hooligan rally. That just makes me wish I were talking to your uncle’s buddy instead of you. He sounds pretty cool."

Good to hear you will be ok. I had one fall 2013 at age 49. Totally unexpected. Got three track days in last fall 2014. Wasn't sure if I would get back to good health but the cardiac rehab was a big help. And taking the meds to keep the blood thin and cholesterol down.

^ Way to go! Glad you recovered. I'm doing the rehab, too.
I asked my doc about track days yesterday. I won't make one this year, but he's fine with me being on the track. (Said it sounded fun; I ought to follow up on that!)
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
Enjoy the ride today boys and girls!! Have fun, stay safe!
im heading out in a couple minutes so hopefully I'm early as long as traffic isn't bad, see you guys there!!!
I'll bet you were a Mikesicle by the time you two got home. Good to see you both, as well as Drewski, Duffy, and e30addict. Let's hope that getting lost on future rides will be just as much fun as today was!
Thanks for the ride Don. Was a pleasure meeting you and very glad to see that you are on your way to a full recovery! It was nice meeting Mike and Margaret as well as Mark also. I sure did get quite a bit cooler at the coast though....
Frozen...no, feeling like I was run over by a truck.... Yes, we did about 230 miles all together and we are both feeling every one of those miles.
It wasn't very far off 495 that the temp difference was easily 10-15degrees and by the time we hit Worcester I had to open the vents in my helmet cause I was getting too warm, I can believe what a difference 20 miles made on the temps. Today was a great season opener!!!
Missed meeting/joining you all by like 4 minutes. Got there and not a bike in sight, lol. Glad you all had fun!
You didn't ride down to North Andover from Statham, did you? I hope you meant you looked for us in Portsmouth for lunch!!
We were, um, delayed a bit :mr green: and I punted on Islington Street since I couldn't tell what imact the bridge-construction detour would have. When I thought about how long the Mikesicle and Margaret had ridden, I chose to go straight to Market Square just for the fun factor.
Wish we could have met up with you, though!
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
I actually did make the ride to North Andover. My faulty though.
I knew I'd be cutting it close. I get out of work at 10am. I'd have made it in time if I hadn't hit some traffic on the way.
Next time!
