Yeah, you read that right: I had a motherf---ing heart attack.*
Guess what: I have NO riding restrictions. You read that right, brethren, the best cardiologist in the valley said today that I have NO f---ing restrictions on riding. I may be on seven new meds and I'll punch your lights out if you hand me a salt shaker, but I HAVE NO RIDING RESTRICTIONS.
So, who's gonna help me celebrate this Saturday? I have no idea where I'm going to go. I have no idea when I might actually hit the road. The f-ing point (if you haven't already guessed it) is that I'm going to be out RIDING, and you should, too, because YOU CAN.
I'm in North Andover, and will probably be heading north or northeast. Who's in? Who's got a clue about where to go? Post up!!!
* It was an ST-elevated miocardial infarction, or STEMI. The worst of the worst. A 100% occlusion of the left anterior descending artery. That's the one that feeds almost the entire left ventricle, which if you don't already know (I didn't) is the biggest, hardest-working part of the heart. Yes, it was the worst pain I've ever felt in my life, and yes, I have tears in my eyes as I'm typing this, but I'm alive, dammit, so f*** it. I'm in damn good health otherwise, which is a big part of why two weeks later I CAN GO RIDING!! By the way, go hug your kids / spouse / parents / goldfish now. Right now. Call your mom, too, it's been too long since you talked to her.
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
You are a lucky sob.

How far are you looking to go? Scared of the cold?
I'm not free Saturday; but if I was I'd head west by 7am through Dracut out to Parkers Maple Barn for breakfast. Turn left out of Parkers and make my way over to VT 100N. Or South towards the Quabbin for a loop.
Or, head North to Polly's Pancake Parlor (see if they've reopened yet) the across the Kanc. You can be home before lunch on that one.

Sounds great, I'll definitely try those later in the year. For Saturday, I was thinking more of 100 - 150 miles, back in 3-4 hours, tops. But basically the same concept: ride fun roads to cool places and eat good stuff.
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
119 Cliff's cafe for breakfast, Quabbin loop, Kimball farm for ice cream. Back under 150 miles![]()

Im in 100% to help you celebrate, don't forget I'm an hour away so if we could do kickstands up at 9:30-10am that would be great, if I have to get my ass out of bed earlier then I can do that too. wherever the road takes us is good by me cause it's not the destination anyways, it's all about the journey. Are you feeling back to 100% yet??
Hi, Mike! Actually, yes, I feel good, but I have to remind myself that my limits are still very low. Let's see what coalesces, but so far I'm leaning to a late morning meet-up and a ride to a lunch place.
Not for this Saturday, but there's this cool little Greek restaurant in Greenfield that I like....
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
I am not available to ride this weekend BUT I am glad you're still around and I would love to go. As another graduate of a miocardial infarction ( 2 years ago in August ) do what they say, change your life style and enjoy life !
Glad you're still with us, Doug!
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
I have some other plans for Saturday, but wish you all an extremely enjoyable ride.
Very happy to hear about the recovery Dontpanic.
Glad to hear you're ok Don. Take care of yourself and enjoy good health.
Oh yeah, and be careful passing the cagers on blind corners.![]()

Time to Count Our Blessings. Glad you are ok.
I gotta find out what time to meet family at Kelly's in Medford for belated bday party. It might just be late afternoon..
Let me know when you have a solid time for meeting up decided on, trying to figure a babysitter situation out so my wife can come too
Damn Don. Glad you're still around.
