So, I have been talking to a few people about it and I am thinking about heading up to the Kancamangus (sp?) in a few weeks, specificly around the 21st some time since I am taking a few days off work for my birthday.
Would anyone be interested in going up there? This is really just to gauge intrest, but if there are even just a few who want to go I would have no problem organizing it. I went up there 2 months ago in my Evo with NEMS and it was a blast. Lots of long sweeping turns, minimal traffic with lots of legal passing zones and not many places for cars to come out of no where from.
I can gather more info on the road to show you guys if you like. Right now I'm just bored at work and thinking of how fun a Kanc run would be.![]()
Nobody on this forum has ever heard of that road... is it good?:
I can't believe no one knows it (except one). It's 20 or 30 miles of just amazing mountian road. It's actually a national scenic route. There arn't many places to turn off it, so theres not a lot of spots where cars can come from. It's about a 2-2.5 hour slab ride (at 75) from my place in Marlborough up to it but TOTALLY worth it. One way or the other I'm going up there in about 2 weeks, would be nice to have some company to enjoy the road with. Consider this more of an open invitation to all who want to join.

If you guys are all so curious about this road I think you need to go with me there. You won't regret it. I'm not going to run it as hard as I did in the Evo, but at an early time when the road was empty (seriously didn't see another car on the road the whole way) I ran it in like 15 minutes I think, end to end. Almost flat out. I kept plenty in reserve, but damn was it a rush.
Going at half on a bike will be amazing. I'm already excited as hell. I actually want to go up at night and run it early in the morning when the sun is just coming up so it's still empty.![]()
Sounds interesting but probably too tough for me....sounds dangerous too

Awsome road , i ride it frequently....love the hairpin!!
I miss ya Beet....ya Git!
Nah, not any more dangerous than any other ride. It's a lot of "highspeed" sweepers. Some "technical" corners but nothing crazy. Put it to you this way, we had mini trucks on air bags rolling through the Kanc at a good clip. Nothing a sport bike and a good rider can't handle with ease.
Maybe...but Rob, can I follow you? I skeered...

I'll be in the slow group just in front of the sweep if that's cool with everyone![]()
whoa whoa WHOA! There's a twisty road up by Lincoln that no one told me about!
You guys suck! I thought we could only ride the interstate around there all this time
Can I hit triple digits on it or are we destined to get stuck behind the Harley boys?
