Looking for a ride on the North Shore

Good day all,

I am a newby from Swampscott, MA. I just picked up a little 94 Ninja 500 & am looking for a decent 2-4 cruise route with maximum curves and minimum traffic. If anyone can suggest a decent route I would appreciate it.

The closest good roads I know of near swampscott are mainly in hamilton-wenham, and essex. I'd be glad to go out for a day to show you some streets.

haha, I have secret rides sometimes. But I havn't had a bike for about a month to actually go on any, but now I'm back on a saddle other then the track bike so we're good to go. How bout sunday we put something together?

Hello all, Great response, lousy planning on my own part. I was expecting a listing of a couple of road and instead I get multiple invitations.

The only pleasure rides I have taken so far have been up 127 up to gloucester. Nice visuals and not bad roads, but you can't make that ride without getting behind a rolling roadblock.

TJ, I am right on Paradise.

Unfortunately I am leaving on vacation Saturday morning so my next two weekends are hosed. I will have to pop in when I get back and see if we can't organize a north shore ride.

Hey whats going on,

I work in gloucester so i've done 127 a couple times. It's really never void of traffic and the speed limit's like 12mph.

I'll usually take a ride thru ipswich/hamilton in the afternoon after work, i'd be up for a north shore cruise somewhere.

Little off your beaten path but try fellsway (stoneham zoo off of 93). Its not the longest road but man early morning and late night when traffic is light its like a race circuit with all of the twisties.

Moroco, the reason people on here dont really list good roads is for the obvious reason: it's a public forum. i'm sure if you PM some of the locals and ask, they'll be more than helpful on sharing some good spots to ride.

at the very least, they'll invite you for a ride, and you'll learn the roads yourself

theres a good number of us that ride on the north shore pretty regularly around here i'm from stoneham and theres a few others from lynn, reading, north reading, andover, etc.

You're going to have a tough time finding any roads in this area that won't have some traffic on them during "normal" hours. The 127 loop I do is USUALLY not too bad, but lately we've been getting stuck behind traffic on the good parts. Le sigh.

We did it last night..and there was actually no traffic really..it was around 10:30ish i think..But unfortunatly we were taking it slow for other reasons. Deffinitly some nice roads out there with some surprisingly good turns.

Yes, but you didn't go out during "normal" hours. With the number of deer and whatnot around here I don't think I'd be doing much backroad bombing at night.

yea we did see a deer..it was on the other side of the road..saw us and jumped over a like 5 foot wall from a stand still and took off.. One of the few smart ones that run AWAY from the light!

i'm down in reading, but am usually around for rides whenever, as long as the weather's good. drop me a PM if you want, and we'll make sure you come for a ride... our usual group (with some variation) is usually me, origin, drop, lady flyin' low, sometimes ff36buell, occasionally TLRMan, with a few others making cameo's from time to time.

just search for richardson's rides, cuz we usually try and get one of those a week.

Weather permitting I am in Everett and would be up for whatever (Im at work basically 7a-5p) other than that if you guys are going I would appreciate being allowed.
