I just found out that Mosport in Bowmanville, Ontario is hosting the VRRA (Vintage Motorcycle Festival) on August 15/16/17 (this weekend). Pretty cool scene, lots of hardcore vintage racers, swap meet, tents, food, vendors in a rural part of Ontario.
I'm sort of fishing here but does anyone have any interest in making the 6 1/2 hour trip from Burlington, VT?
I accidentally ran into this event a few years ago while circling Lake Ontario and it was a pretty fun time.

Is there even the slightest interest in buzzing up there, camping out, and coming back on Sunday? Or for someone with more free time, I wouldn't be averse to tacking on another day and riding back around through Toronto / Niagra.

Hmm... that is very tempting. It's only about 330 miles away if we take a direct route through Adirondack Park.
Biggest concern is that the V-Strom needs new tires... but I can probably squeeze another 700 miles out of the current ones.
I'd need to be back Sunday night though. Let me think about it a bit.

Me... on the 998.... for 330 miles... Not a chance. (Yet. Gotta build up the tolerance)

Ahh yes, nice. Although once you cross into Ontario it looks like about 2 1/2 hours spent on the 401.
Yuk.
Still, could be a pretty fun weekender.
I'm not 100% on it yet either; lets sleep on it.

If I'd known about it a few weeks ago, I would have definitely been up for it. But I was looking at the V-Strom's rear tire, and I don't feel comfortable putting a 700+ mile weekend on it. It would probably be showing cord by the time we got back.
I'm ordering new tires today so this doesn't happen again...
