Motorcycle Night - July 6th Photos

This was my first night @ motorcycle night, I don't really know anyone on the forum yet, but I took some pictures to share. Hope to maybe meet some of you next week. Perfect night to ride after everything ended.

why are so many sportbike riders fair weather riders? It was like that around here too, if the skies are perfectly clear people wont ride. Just look at the weather, it wasnt supposed to rain here last nioght but still people werent out. Just venting I guess

The skies were dark, other than that the weather was perfect last night!

Leather gear maybe? I dunno. I ride in all weather except ice and heavy snow. Don't own any leather gear except boots and gloves (and a codpiece).

y'know, I've found that-- in most situations-- leathers are GOOD rain gear, if the rain isn't too heavy. treat it w/ something like Lexol and light-to-reasonable rain isn't gonna soak it, and it does a damn fine job of keeping the water on the outside. of course, if I know it's likely to pour, I'm definitely going w/ textiles...

might be that-- since a fair percentage of the folk I've seen @ Motorcycle night in the past are of the jeans-n-tee-shirt crowd, that's a moot point, anyway...

IMHO-- tho I haven't done any scientific research on this-- it prolly has more to do w/ being unsure of riding in wet conditions... fears of traction, not liking to deal w/ water on visor, etc. just a guess...

You have a great excuse. Get good at riding in the dry before attempting wet riding. It takes quite a bit more smoothness to stay upright in the rain. The first time the bike trys to swap ends under power on a highway onramp, or the front end pushes you'll be pretty freaked out. It would likely help to have some experience under your belt in these situations. That said, maybe I've just been lucky

It was nice to meet some more new faces last night including Kham, Carlo and Rye. It was also funny to hear Heather (I think it was her anyways) say that I was not what she expected when she saw me.

Anyways I hope to meet more of you in the weeks to come
