Right now we only have 12 people subtracting our "Free Goalies" splitting the cost which is just shy of $16 a person.

That also only leaves us one sub a side which is not great. Should be two minimum three is ok, four is perfect.

So when can we let others in on it? I have one friend that definately wants to play, and I can find a few more if need be...

Does anyone have some kind of a skate sharpener I can use to tune up my blades a little bit?

i always wore very small skates in highschool and college hockey - mine are gonna kill!

if you are concerned about possible blood borne pathogens, then letting me borrow your skates might not be the best idea.

It takes me about 20 minutes to put on full equepment plus all the B/S you do while your getting ready. I saw about 1/2 hour would be safe. So arive about 9:30 grab a locker room key and start getting ready. I may go with just the esentials seeing we are playing a no check game, unsure yet? Skating without my hockey pants has been a bad decition twice so far. Landing on your tailbone can hurt for days if you hit it right, also Shin & elbow pads. NEVER play without those!!!!! OOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUCH!!!!!!! The boards and hitting thew ice are not forgiving at all, and a puck or a stick to the shins...... "Mother Fucker" It always happens and usually an acident. If you dont have these beg borrow or steal them, YOU WILL WANT THOSE!!!

Bring a pair of Sweatopants, the other pants I have will fit you. I hope to hell you have shin pads? If not get soam foam and wrapp the from of your shins with a few layers on the outside of your sweatpants so they do not get taped to your legs. I have plenty of Hockey socks that people can use also for going this route to protect your shins.

Other option is bring two pairs of Sweatpants one hopefully larger than the other. Inbetween layers tape on the foam. I can try to get some foam from work for people. Somebody bring cloth tape or even electrical tape and I will bring the foam..

if you are concerned about possible blood borne pathogens, then letting me borrow your skates might not be the best idea. I guess my feet are shaped weirdly and depending on the skate manufacturer, can sometimes end up getting some bad blisters and some bleeding.....

my last pair of skates, i bled for maybe the first 3-4 times i skated with them until i finally built up tougher skin..... so i am not sure if my feet are going to be alright tomorrow.....

Dude seriously, that's pretty gross. Just what I wanted to read after being nauseous the last couple days. You should really consider wearing a bigger pair of skates, maybe add some of those foot cushion things. My goalie skates are pretty uncomfortable, so that's what I did and now their tollerable. (In my defense though they're second hand and from the dinosaur age.)


Anyway, just checking in. I will be there tonight, though I can't promise I'll be a top notch goalie. I've been battling the effects of a flu shot I got a week ago. Feeling a lot better now though...

I'll wait til next time or I'll be coughing all over the ice, just getting over the flu and it's my weekend with the kids, would have worked it out if I had known earlier.

I can make a couple phone calls if you want. I live in Tewksbury, but I skate in Saugus. I used to work at the Acton/Boxboro rink though, so I can try to give them a call. Or I can call some other local rinks.
