WPI Car Show April 22, 2007 Sunday

Hey guys there is going to be a Bike and car show at here at WPI in April. It's a ways off at this point but just keep it in mind. It's going to be free to attend but there will be a nomial fee to enter your car in the competition. There are going to be several different classes for cars and just one for bikes I believe. There should be plenty of cars and bikes there. Food is free with an optional donation.


Who: The show is being put on the WPI Motorsports club

What:Second Annual WPI Car/Bike Show

Where: Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA. The show is being held in the library parking lot which is on Boynton St. Map (Just east of building #14)

When: Sunday, April 22, 2007 with a rain date on Sunday, April 29. It starts at 11 AM and goes through the day.

How Much: Entrance to the show and food are going to the free. That includes bringing your car and showing it but if you want to enter to win an award you need to pay a fee (About 5 bucks I think)

Not to hijack chris, but Last year was our first show, and while we got stuck with some kinda crappy weather, it was still a pretty good turnout. It was an overall fun time last year, with awards being given out and some great food being grilled. I am going to be there with the zixxer, I have some buddies (04 ZZR, 89 ZX6R, Loud cherokee) going, and Im sure chris (mad max) will be there with his suzi. It would be AWESOME if some of you guys would come out and see what it is all about.
There were about eleventy bijillion evos there last year, as they turned it into a club event. There was an old caddy with full hydraulics, a late 80's 300front wheel hp boosted Nissan Pulsar, couple mustangs... I would love to see a huge turnout, and come on guys, free food and DJing by yours truly?? How can you turn that down?

Did you mean '99 on the ZX6R? If you meant '89, then I'm shocked because I used to have an '89 Kawasaki Ninja 600R and that bike is pretty obsolete now.

Otherwise, I might come down. There's never anything else to do in Worcester anyways.

1.) 89, he wanted a cheap streetable bike, and ended up with kind of a streetfighter.
2.) Have we ridden together?
3.) I am going to say no to the xr's, solely because of the liability WPI would be assuming, because its on their land.

1.) haha, awesome...I'll have to see it sometime...is it a real streetfighter? sprocketed out and what not?
2.) no...I'm in worcester daily so we talked about it before, but never actually got on a ride together

The 89 just has the streetfighter look right now. When I bought my new zixxer it got him interested in bikes, so he found this one that had some road rash and whatnot out in salem or acton or somewhere east of here. He brought it back to worcester, stripped all the plastics, mounted up a headlight and chopped windscreen and races it around. It is not geared or anything, but its got a full V and H exhaust.

Edit: found this pic somewhere, he looks like an idiot, but you get the idea. This is right before his windscreen and lights.

Yeah, we went out around the resevoir I think. Waited around for your buddies for like 10 minutes in the autozone parking lot. I doubt theres another telfonica on the site, and at the time you were talking about selling yours, how you likin the TL? we're going to have to go out again and hit the "twists" around worcester.

thanks for the interest guys. Fasterthanyou made it, hung around for a little while. All in all we estimate we had close to 200 cars swing by throughout the day. Very diverse event, everything from an escalade that was at world of wheels to bikes to a couple NHRA drag cars. The big event if the day was when some guy let his corvette go for a cruise right into some bushes across the street. Ill link up some pics if anyones interested.
