Here’s my 3 day ride report from RI to NH:
Thursday PM, left RI and headed to Salem MA. Road conditions were ‘average’ for route 95.
Friday PM, left Salem MA for N. Woodstock NH. Beware of grooved pavement on 95S in Woburn area. Also beware of ledges created by pavement on 95S and 93N. They caught me by surprise, was raining at the time also.
Ride up 93 was mixture of mist, heavy showers and dryness. Pavement north of Plymouth is bumpy from frost heaves, gets noticeable after about 80 MPH (noticed this on the way home in the dry )
Saturday in NH – I rode yesterday in mixed rain/cloudy conditions from Route 112 in N. Woodstock to Route 118 west into Warren. Route 118 is very bumpy due to frost heaves, you have to pick your line either inside our outside of the center which is cracked and bumpy. To give perspective on road limits…I was being paced by a Subaru wagon in the tighter areas. I hope they re-pave this road, it is awesome when the pavement is good.
Took 118 to 25 through Wentworth, then onto 25a into Orford NH. 25a is in great condition, the road is less twisty but has some great high speed sweepers. You go through several villages where you should back it down though.
Not having a map handy, I decided to back-track from Orford and headed south in Wentworth on 25 towards Rumney/Plymouth. This road was in good shape.
From Plymouth I caught Route 3 and headed north into N. Woodstock. Road was in good shape.
There was a rotary either 25 goes into downtown Plymouth, and there were 2 NHSP cars, one guy in the road doing radar gun, another was the chase car. Was a 35mph posted area where the guy was like ¼ mile from the sign, e.g. semi speed trap.
Sunday AM ride home from N. Woodstock to Salem very uneventful, lots of Harleys on trailers. Mild police presence on highway, no speed traps seen.
