what time do you figure it will be over by?
Really hard to say but you will be within stiking distance of 93 by mid afternoon...all depends on weather and route.

Dave I might have 2 others to join the ride, but not 100% sure, one doesn't have a computer. Do you need them to sign up on grouprider or can they just tag along with me if they do decide to come?

Joe...thats fine! Maybe you could post up at the end of next week and let me know how many!
For now, I'll add two more mentally...to the 12 I am subtracting mentally from the tentative list!!!

I asked this in the other thread, but I might as well ask in this one
is anyone using motorcycle comms? if so, which cheap ones are compatible?
also, is there a place to park a truck for people that slab up?
Bhavesh,
No idea on comms...not for me!
As for parking, there is a big parking lot behind MaryAnnes. I am sure it would be fine to park there....

Also ZX-12R offered up parking in Candia which is right up the street..

I'm down as tentative. Not really a big fan of group rides with more then 12 riders. If I dont have anything crazy going on Sat night I might go on this ride. But I'd think I'd have to stay somewhere near the starting point the night before.
Anyone got a place I can crash sat night?
I can vouch that Dave runs a decent group ride so long as the riders themselves are using their heads too!
Dave- How many bikes were on last year's covered bridge ride with you and Skip...15 I think?
About half of them had passengers too....no incidents to speak of.
This will be just fine if everyone uses their head in addition to respecting the other riders in every aspect.
You guys should give Dave a chance on this one. Those of you that have ridden with me know how I like to ride. Dave led me in a pack of 25 bikes up through the Gaps of Vermont just the way I like it. It wasn't slow, there weren't any tickets and there weren't any crashes. I've led smaller groups before and I can't say they've gone as well as his did last Sunday. He's a great leader and not too proud to ask a local if his route could use a tweaking based on current road conditions. His original route would have taken us through a tough section of pavement, but his willingness to introduce himself to a local rider and ask for suggestions rerouted us into a Gap with virgin pavement.

Ahhh ok should have read the WHOLE thread (kind of tired). Sounds good guys.
OK, according to the following, it looks like we have 16 riders confirmed and 20 tentitive. Actual attendees, based on the calculus I use, looks like this!!!
Confirmed - 10% = ~13
Tentitive - 50% = ~10
Total ~23
I have 6 additional 'BBLLR...R' volunteers to help with lead, sweep and ride buddie. If we end up with any fewer we will probably stay as one group...any larger and we'll break into two.
Weather, at this point, is calling for "Thunder Showers"....no idea what that really means but so far we are gonna go. If it looks like we will be in rain for anything like 1/2 the time or more I'll likely cancel the ride...any less and we'll go!
I understand that a lot of you are on the fence because of other committments, (drinking the night before for example!), and weather! If you are becoming more committed however, please update your status on Group Rider!
I will likely post one more update here before the ride. And I will have a one line banner update on my home page.
.
Thanks to all for the constructive concerns and suggestions! Looking forward to an awesome ride with some awesome riders!

Matt...if you are looking at the route on Group Rider 1 that is about 1/4 of the total planned route which will be about 350 miles. Your mileage may vary!
Actual mileage will really depend on the second third of the ride. If the weather is promising and we do Mt. Washington that is one route. If not, we may choose to stay west then south to Lincoln then west on 112/118. Otherwise we stay south from Mt. Washington down to Bear Notch and then EAST on the Kanc to 16 the west on 113 and 113a.
Flexibility will be the key!!!!
Dave
(BTW - Steve was leading with appropriate caution on that first Gap. After he saw how we rode, and I suggested that if he was comfortable going faster so were we, he picked it up nicely. Anyway, you know where it is now...so do I! We could go back anytime! I thought the ride after the second gap to the floating bridge was a lot of fun!)

I might be leaving that morning from Providence. I'm not sure if Jamie and I are heading up early morning. Or if I'm heading up solo the night before.
Either way the bike is going in the back of the truck!
