Hi, new to the site, seems nice. I just got a GSXR and was hoping to find some riding buddies near greenfield ma. I should mention that I probably ride on the slow side (20mph~ over limit) and have never ran from the cops. Send me a pm or post

rofl, no man. i'm actually unemployed right now :/
Welcome new guy.
I'm nowhere near Greenfield, but there are some members of the board from that area. They'll be along shortly, I'm sure (or longly... who knows).

Welcome. I see that you made it over from the other forum.
Don't worry about your pace. Ride the pace that makes your comfortable. And 20 over is not *slow*. It's still enough to get yourself a ticket.
Maybe you can give us a bit of an intro. Riding experience, type of riding you like etc. Will help you match up with other riders easier.

ok, well i'm a 31 year old male from Long island, ny. Pretty much just moved up here a few months ago. I lived on Long Island all my life and I kinda miss itThis is my second bike, the first was a 89' ninja 600 i had a long time ago. the current is a k3 GSXR 1000 with many mods. I love the thing, said to myself i'll never be without a bike in my life again. I haven't made any friends up here yet that don't ride Harleys
As for riding, I usually go kinda hard, but i don't know how to run from the cops, so usually not more than like 20 miles over the limit like i said. I just do that and keep an eye out for cops and jam on the brakes as soon as i see them/traps. lol this actually works for me, usually maybe 5 tenths? But i have patience so don't be afraid of contacting me if ur slower
The only thing that bothers me is that i'm 6'4" so the bike isn't that comfortable, this puts more than hour and a half rides out of the question. was hoping to meet up with someone in greenfield to go for quick rides with.

sdog - sounds good, i'll keep checking the section
Better do something to help your comfort. You can easily spend an hour or more just getting to the good roads!
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
i guess you're right. i'm probably a noob to the whole sportbike thing lol. don't get me wrong, i'm not an idiot, i have gear and i put more than 5k miles on the old ninja and never went down but they were nearly all commuting miles. so yeah i have expirence but there's still a lot i don't know. i was just riding the back roads near my house. i don't think i've ever been on a really good road then lol, just ok ones. ty for the tip![]()
Easy with the noob. I suspect that roads in LI are different, but you can only know what you've been exposed to.
A liter gixxah isn't the most comfortable bike out there (says someone who has never been on one).
Mike sleeps on a pull out sofa bed he thinks is comfortable so the grain of salt would apply here...!
Most of us that gather for group rides think nothing of knocking off 300 miles on a Sunday. Maybe when you get more experience you'll get bitten by the need to ride all day and you'll either figure out how to get by with your bike or you'll find something more comfortable for yourself.
I like to tell people that they shouldn't ride a motorcycle unless they have a real fire in the belly that can't be quenched any other way. Your message is a little mixed. You'll never be without a bike again vs 1 hour rides are what you're looking for!
Regardless, it's your freekin ride so don't let others tell you what you like!
Oh...and ATGATT or else you're a squid...!![]()

You can probably get some clip-on risers to lift the bars up. That would have you a little more upright. Also, many automotive upholstery shops will add foam to the seat. That will loft your ass a bit higher from the pegs and let your legs stretch out a bit.
Hey, welcome to the site and don't get scared off by these guys.
Not sure what the roads are like in LI, but I'm going to guess straight and flat. You have moved to a great area of Mass for riding. Seriously, ask how many people on here travel an hour or more just to come and ride our roads. Riding fast in a straight line is alot different than on a curvey road.
Anyways, I don't think you'll be waiting around for me or any of the other guys I typically ride with to catch up.
As far as length of rides go, we can make a few stops along the way, grab a snack, get something to drink, grab gas, so a 300 mile trip can take all day. We've all been in your shoes, so don't sweat it.

True, I ride from Boston to that area to ride the great roads. The fun really starts west of 91.
Lee, you keep mentioning (not) running from cops. It's simply not worth it no matter how well you can ride. You have some really great roads where you are. You can explore different clip ons and lower pegs(even only the pegs, not a whole rear set) to try to make it more comfy. At 6'3" it's never going to be as comfortable compared to something say 5'10".

I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs on a good day without gear, so I understand. The most uncomfortable bike I've owned has got to be my 06 r1... it's also the one I miss the most.
Custom seat will help, I like Progrip superbike grips, stomp grip pads on the tank.
