    Riding for the holiday weekend!

I was thinking about doing a rip up to Evans Notch on Sunday, and open to suggestions for a rip on Saturday, but possibly hitting up central NH (the 107/104/114/149 corridors perhaps?)

Lets get some plans together - The weather is looking to be PERFECT for riding this weekend.

Re: Riding for the holiday weekend!

I had a few people hit me up offline about this weekend. I'm hoping to keep each day at 10 or less or PM's are best.

.... I've attached the ride plans Im planning on.

Sunday is pretty much set in stone for Evans Notch but Im open for alternate plans on Saturday. If there are any brazen ones out there, I doing a 386 mile (11.5 hour) rip on Monday (PM me for the ride plans on that!)

    Will the pace be slow?

I am just getting back into riding and do not want it too spirited if I am in

LOL yes... I used to think my pace was 'fast' but after riding with some folks from the site.. I feel like a turtle. I've riden with G21Forme and Subtleurge, but I keep it within 10-20 of the posted limits... (My Sunday ride even has a Harley coming along!) .. I ride for the thrill of the ride, not the speed (i know.. im strange.. but fukkin deal with it )

Chris sets a fun and spirited pace but not an "oh shit I'm gonna lose my license or crash pace" and that reminds me Chris I definitely need some of those routes you've been cooking up.

I've started a new format of maps and directions... and i've started pdf'ing them.

That reminds me... June 19 & 20 (Friday and Saturday) If you're (by chance) not working "Green mountain nat'l park ride west... party for the night in schenectady with my boys out there then mohawk trail on the ride home!! W00T!!! Free lodging!!

I'll get the routes on a CD for you next time you come over. (Drinkin Saturday night?)

I am definitely down for Saturday then!

I will be coming from Hampton (right off 101) - what is the exact location of the start? Time?

    Damn that old age!!!

Well if you do decide to go, get with me offline for start point and time (this will be an afternoon rip ending around dinner time).

We'll head up Rte 107 from Raymond to Laconia, over and across 106 and 104, Cross central NH on Rte 4 and 127, and head back via 149 and 114. Anyone who rides is welcome to a beer-b-que at the end.

Re: Riding for the holiday weekend!

The Sunday ride should be interesting... I've got a few people interested in it, including my long-time riding buddy whos actually gonna be sporting a harley this weekend.

It's a diesel ride up there... I will probably change the route back to avoid 16 (Rte 16 is a guranteed bitch on a holiday weekend).

Stiggy this might be a good one for you since we are leaving earlier... but you'll be a zombie after the ride LOL!

I'll PM you guys my info so you have it if you have any questions!!

Re: Riding for the holiday weekend!

Update before people take off for the weekend:

Saturday: Looks to be a smaller crowd of 5 or so (so far) I'll sweep both starting points for any last minute riders (PM me for starting times).

Sunday: We've got about 9 confirmed so far. Thanks to Stiggy for recommending we do Hurricane Mountain Road on the way back down. This ride will leave from the Shell Station in Epping (at the intersection at Rte 125 & 27) Sunday morning. (There is a Dunkin's and Subway with restrooms there). PM me for departure time.

As always, anyone who does not want to slab in the morning or just wants to party their ass off the night before, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights will feature cold beer on draught, beirut matches full BBQ spread (we stop at a butchers market on the way back) and a bonfire. Safe (indoor and outdoor) bike parking is always available.

Enjoy your weekend where ever you ride!!!

Yup. I'll take the lead for Hurricane Mountain rd. I'm fairly familiar with it. Here's me attacking HMR in my WRX last weekend.

Count me in for the BBQ! I havent had a good one yet this year.

I had a full blown retina operation so I'm sidelined for a week maybe more. I now have a gas bubble holding the retina in place for healing. This SUCKS!!!

Re: Riding for the holiday weekend!

Sucks to hear that Ken. Looks like we have a pretty good turn-out for both days now. Looks like we have a lucky number 7 people on Saturday and 10 for Sunday.

I picked up a spare keg yesterday as well as a ton of hanburger meat. We'll still stop off at the meat market about 2 miles from the house after each ride to sock up on good stuff like prime rib, kabobs and whatever else for the post ride fun as well! (Even those who blow their engine and can't (Greg (G21Forum)) (Sorry bro..had to out you on that!) may indulge with us this evening

Saturday Meeting: Epping Shell Station (corner of 125 and 27) at 1:30pm
Sunday Meeting: Epping Shell Station (corner of 125 and 27) at 10:00am
...Text me if you are running late or whatever and we'll figure out an alternate meet place or something.... 603.275.2447.

Happy (and safe) rides this weekend guys!!!

Re: Riding for the holiday weekend!

Well.... one (ride) down and one to go. It's not often you take the wrong turn on a ride and it turns out better than the original plan. No so the case today. My bad for taking Rte 4 west, not east. Needless to say the ride from Laconia to LEBANON (LOL) was a kick ass ride of riverbanks, twisties and sweeps.

After our stop in (what they called a town) of Enfield, I admitted my guilt and we found a new way back, only to end the ride exactly on time!!

As one of the riders will confirm, this is NOT the week to be speeding.... $350 later we all had a pretty nice rip.

For those doing the Evans Notch Ride on Sunday - Please try to have tanks full and bladders empty by 10am at the Epping Shell. We have a ton of ground to cover! Forecast looks even better now, with Mostly Sunny and 78 (colder at the notch).

Thanks for the weather report... perhaps we'll just call you Ken Albert from channel 5

All I can say is welcome to New England in Summer where there is a chance of rain EVERY day... Nothin to sweat.
