Sorry if I was a bit slow keeping up, but It just took me some time to get into the groove of hitting twisties again. Had a great time, though it would have been better without my peg coming unscrewed. Oh well, maybe a new screen name is in sight..

Thanks Dan, glad you enjoyed yourself!!

As far Today's (Sunday's) Ride: Yes we are still riding. There is a 'chance' of a shower on the ride back, being scattered in nature we can route around it, stop for a drink, or just rip through it... We ain't scurred!!

    See you at 10

Can't wait for today. I'll have video rolling for the good parts

Also, me and ninjajim both have weather radar available on our phones. That coupled with GPS on my bike, we can outrun or reroute around spotty showers. It's a fun game we play in the summer, lol.

Re: Riding for the holiday weekend!

Let me start by saying this ride will be one of the best of the year!!! Beginning with what makes a ride enjoyable: The people! Dave, Sean, Jim and Brad... WOW! These guys are f'ing troopers, experienced, fun, and can really make a day a ton of fun!

We left Epping at 10am on schedule, making a slight detour through Newmarket to rip down Bay Rd and get our tires nice and toasty. From Newmarket we had a bit of a slab run to get to 202.. Then off we went headed for Sanford, ME. The rain started around Rochester and remained light until the Waterboro, ME area where it really started to come down. These guys were troopers and were determined to make a day of this ride, so after a short stop at the Mobil station somewhere near Limerick, ME... we detoured eastward toward clear skies on Rte 25 toward Ossipee.

In Osspiee we ripped up Rte 153 all the way into Conway where we sat in a bit of traffic. Before we knew it, we made our first rip down Hurrican Mountain Rd (This was my first time on it). Not only was it the first time on that road, it was the first time I've seen a ZX-14 become completely airborne (and landed safely) Needless to say, at the end of the road, I had to wipe a bit of sh*t off my Gixxer as I damn near shit myself.... And with a super-sized grin, we agreed to rip it again in the opposite direction. Heading back, I could count at least 7 times I became airborne before we emerged back on Rte 16.

It was time to head up to Evans Notch. We tore up Rte 16 at slightly better than spirited pace all the way into Gorham. After topping off, we proceeded down Rte 2 and finally onto Rte 113 through the Notch. The Notch was in good shape and sported a fast pace right through! We couldnt help but notice that Hurricane Mountain Rd was right off 113 so ... yep... we rode it a third time.. This time seeing an R6 become airborn by a few feet!!!!! (Nice job Dave... absolutely amazing!!)

Some of us needed to get back to the Manchester area, so we deviated from the route plan and decided to ride the Kanc back to Lincoln and slab our way down I-93. In order to avoid traffic, we took Rte 302 to Bear Notch Rd to the Kanc where we took some nice pics before finishing the rip.

Normally I'd have called the ride in Lincoln, but a ride is not a ride until you've been stopped on I-93 for a border control inspection!!! .... Wow.. just wow. I clocked over 350 miles for the day.

Thanks again for the great ride guys!!! I hope to see some of the video from The Notch and HMR that Sean got soon!

Re: Riding for the holiday weekend!

Today was a hell of an adventure. I will be working on the videos in the next coming days and will post them. A quick review of the the vids I shot have an R6 making an MX style jump, a zx-14 going offroad and a few other good things.

I need to work on my camera mounting. Having it attached to the license plate light makes for some very bouncy video at times, but I still got some good stuff.

I had an enjoyable time with everyone, great meeting you all! Chris, let's do this again in the near future!

Okay, so I need a new and unique username.

    TPcowl

    - or -

    pegless

    Story behind both:

On the ride Saturday we stopped into a gas station. FlynGSXR1k was in the shitter and one of the workers at the gas station went to restock the mens room with toilet paper. Someone was in there yet again, so she handed me the two rolls and asked me to put them in there since I was waiting. FlynGSXR1k comes out of the bathroom and asks if I brought them with me. I responded with something along the lines of 'Yeah, I keep a roll or two under my cowl for emergencies. Screw a toolkit.' Laughter ensued along with some 'self-cleaning jokes'.

On that same ride, I somehow managed to unscrew the footpeg on the clutch side of my SV. It was brought to my attention that the rider behind me saw something bounce off my bike and down the road. We found it, screwed it back on and continued the ride. That m' fucker is now loctited on there like there is no tomorrow.

    LOL!!!

Both moments were priceless. I'm changing your nickname in my cell phone to TPcowell... That was some funny shit seeing you walk around the store with two rolls of TP in your hand.

The weather this week looks kinda iffy, but the weekend is already lookin good. The guys and I are putting something special together for Sunday, but I'll definately let you in on whats happening once we finalize stuff up!!

As far as the foot peg.... Perhaps it was a mistake to share it with DBKroms on Monday... but when I told him the story, he told me some cheap m'f'ers need to suck it up and buy a real rear set () LOL

Good to have you back on the road Botto!
